Wonderful medieval church, much of which, especially the West end, was rebuilt after 1945. Much brighter than most medieval cathedrals.
Still very much an active church and it shows.
Try to be there before the top of the hour to get the full benefit of the amazing 16th century astronomical clock

It is hard to believe that some reviewers did not experience awe when visiting this miraculous structure. Considering the time it was built and it's history I felt like I was in one of Follet's cathedrals in his terrific book, "Pillars of the Earth".

This cathedral has a relatively sober interior. There are some intersting sculptures when you make the walk around but overall I have seen nicer churches than this one.

We were visiting the city centre in Munster for the first time; as our brother-in-law has just moved here and we were on a family visit. Our visit was on a Saturday and it was market day so very busy and with cyclists everywhere. Fortunately the weather was better than forecast and we could walk round enjoying the atmosphere of a bustling city centre and the amazing architecture that somehow survived the WWII bombing raids. The Cathedral is beautiful both from the outside and inside too and definitely worth a visit. There are a lot of other fine buildings including the town hall and many other churches if you have the time to visit.

Made a pitstop enroute to Cologne in Munster. Love the quaint surrounding and vibe, The cathedral interior spacious and airy. Entry is free.
