Walk from the train station or the cruise terminal, a pleasant stroll on a nice day. Shops, bars, restrooms and endless views of the harbor, boats and older style buildings. Be sure to check latest trip advisor ratings, as we picked a great restaurant for lunch and a bar to sit and people watch. A lot packed into a fairly small area. Even walk to the beach.

Just a joyful, interesting, short walk from our cruise ship. Plenty of choices for eating and drinking on both sides of the canal. Lovely little shops, but they do close by 7pm, even though our ship was at port for several more hours. Hard to be miserable in a place like this!

This street was just a very short walk from the train station. Our cruise ship had docked some distance from Warnemunde, in the industrial port of Rostock, which required a 10 minute walk, a bus journey and brief train journey to reach our destination (only cost €2.10 single fare). Alter Strom is a picturesque area with boats, tourist shops and bars/restaurants. We took advantage of one bar to have a small liquid refreshment and to people watch. The street leads up to a lighthouse as well as offering access to the long, sandy beach. A very enjoyable experience!

A lovely street with boats moored on one side and plenty of shops, cafes, bars on the other. Also well kept gardens are in the centre of the pavement.

Very charming little town with shops and many bars. This is where some big cruiseship docked so expected it to be busy. The town is walking distance to trans station which you can easily get to Rostock or Berlin. We took the train to Rostock which took about 20min. We had a 7 year old so we took another train straight to zoo . It’s easy to get around
