Very charming little town with shops and many bars. This is where some big cruiseship docked so expected it to be busy. The town is walking distance to trans station which you can easily get to Rostock or Berlin. We took the train to Rostock which took about 20min. We had a 7 year old so we took another train straight to zoo . It’s easy to get around

Alter storm is a typical resort town beach shopping area. It is where the tourists often are, so don't expect bargains or discounts. If you like beach themed decor, this town was the place to shop!

Nice place for a walk (and eat and drink) while watching the boats sail und and out. But it can be pretty busy at times when a large cruiser on loaded his passengers for a couple of hours.

We spent 4 hours in this area it is a short walk from cruise port lots of neat little shops and restaurants. Our Berlin tour was cancelled because we got into port around 11 because of heavy fog and the train to Berlin from here takes 3 hours. We made the best of it very nice little place!

Deciding not to go into Berlin, the Alter Strom was an easy walk from the cruise ship, and it couldn't have been more picturesque. The red and white fishing boats made for some great photos along the canal, along with plenty of shops and cafes to choose from. The architecture of the buildings was true German gingerbread!
