The main tourist strip in Warnemunde, buzzing with activity on a mid-week day and actually quite crowded even with only one smaller cruise ship docked nearby. It appears to be popular with Rostock residents and tourists from other parts of Germany.

Bustling with activity and very colourful, there are shops, cafes, restaurants, and fish stands lining the canalside where short boat trips were on offer.

Arrive by train and the platform leads directly to Alter Strom. Ferries just outside the station are another option to and/or from Rostock.

Our cruise ship docked in this beautiful place, we had made no plans so we just went for a stroll and we wernt disappointed.
The Alter Strom is just a short walk away from the cruise terminal.
It's filled with lots of lovely shops and cafes and restaurants. The goods in the shops is good quality and inexpensive, lots of lovely stuff for gifts.
We stopped on a sunny midweek day in may and it wasn't overcrowded. This place is popular with the Germans as a holiday destination as well as attracting cruise ships. A beautiful stop on a sunny day.

The main area with restaurants, souvenir shops and fish booths. Opposite the canal, where many companies offer harbour 'cruises'.

Follow this street to get to the Westmole's lookout area at the end of the mole. Lots of nice shops, restaurants, cafes line the canal. It's very busy and colorful. Lots of opportunity to browse and find gifts to take home. If you found this review helpful, click on the button below.
