This is a case where you can be tricked by a smart website and a nice offer over the internet. Booked 2 rooms but concierge only cared to check in one of us. Seemed kind of weird a 4 star hotel is giving a pair of keys instead of a keycard. One key for the room and one key for the hotel front door. So much for a 24hr service.
The room was fairly small size but had a huge flat tv. 90% of the sat channels were either without signal or encoded so one could only watch german tv or some boring news channels.
Wi-fi was not available due to some technical issue. We asked if this will be fixed and she replied that I shouldn't really bother as I m only there to sleep. Well you could just turn this into a hostel.
Seemed like a really pet friendly hotel. There was a huge labrador strolling around the lobby, bar and breakfast area and later on at night we saw a MOUSE walking around.
Would not recommend this to anyone.

While the price was a bit much, this is often the case during high fair season. Close to the center, easy walking to restaurants and shops. The rooms are in the small size but compact, very clean with every thing you need including a great shower. Good breakfast buffet and lovely garden.

The Aussenalster Hotel i situated ina quiet area of Hamburg, near the beautiful Aussenalster lake. The street Lange Reihe was nearby, with lots of restaurants, bars and small shops. it was a very pleasant area, and a few minuts' walk to the busstops.
we had a nice double room with a view to the garden. the room had plenty of light, and was very clean. The breakfast buffet was excellent, and the personnel pleasant and helpful. We also tried the restaurant in the basement, which was very good. The elevator was very small, the was not room for more than two people with two small suitcases. We enjoyed our stay very much, and would like to return on a later occasion.

Room tip: Rooms facing the garden have a nice view, but could be a little bit noisy because of the restaurant in the garden.

This hotel was in an old building near the Hamburg coastline. A very old and nostalgic elevator and a cozy room with a window on the short ceiling. The Internet quality was acceptable. Despite being small, the room had good facilities.
The personnel were friendly and respectful.
The TV in my room provided limited local channels and nothing more, which was like my other experiences in Germany.
The interesting point of staying in this hotel was the big lovely dog in the lobby which was the kindest creature during my journey to Germany

I booked this hotel for a one night stay in Hamburg due to its proximity to the Alster and city in general. The hotel was pleasant and the room was well equipped. All bathroom amenities one would expect were provided and the bed was comfortable.
Breakfast the next day morning was a wonderful selection of German food and the ambiance in the little garden was great in the morning.

The hotel is splendidly located (though not central), with the lake at one end of the street, and a lively shopping street at the other. Some rooms have patios that overlook a beautiful garden with birds singing. A restaurant in the lower level is very good and quite expensive. Very helpful service. And very well run.

Room tip: Room 28 is wonderful.
