The location of this apartment is awesome. Maybe a 10 minute walk to AlexanderPlatz and well located between 2 UBahn stations on convenient lines. We did a healthy amount of walking combined with UBahn and SBahn travel because of the convenience. It is located in a typical residential building on a side street so you feel like you are living like a local. We stayed for 10 nights.
Upon arrival, we were met by a manager for the apartment who stressed the importance of not making any noise what so ever. We were very cautious of our noise level (taking pains to whisper even) and tried to make no noise in the hall. We heard the neighbors coming and going, but generally the block was pretty quiet.
The apartment is "upside down" for us North Americans. 3 Bedrooms and 1 bath on the main floor and the kitchen, sitting room, extra bedroom and bathroom downstairs. The rooms have high ceilings and large bright windows. We were there in April and needed the heat which never failed us.
The hot water heater is also large and even though we had 6 adults staying, we never ran out. Towels, hairdryer and all the kitchen supplies were plentiful.
My only criticism: While the apartment was tidy and generally clean, it definitely needs an infrastructure cleaning or painting. There were dirt and water marks on the doors, walls and door jams, the blinds had been cleaned but still had a layer of visible dirt, etc. I understand normal wear and tear on a rental property, but it was bothersome enough that I had to mention it.
We really enjoyed our stay. It perfectly met the needs of 3 (50ish) couples who had chosen to meet up in Berlin for a week long reunion.
