We spent there one night, which was not so nice. The bed makes all kind of noize, not confortable, pillow is way too soft. From 6am the lady staff started to laugh and speak way too lound until 7 am when they finaly left from the middle of the floor. We could hear at least 3 neighbours what they are doing, although we was in the last room on the floor..the location was good, the hotel is 20 meters from the main square.

The hotel is located in the heart of the old town. Just one stepp and you are in the towns center.
You have to book early if you want a place there, especially if you want to stay during the weekend. It's not pricy, id's say middle class to upper middle class, but for this price its worth. The rooms art clean and in really good condition. The furniture is original rustic oak from the 60s or 70s, a trend that's coming again. Really classy ambiente.
The breakfast buffet is in an separate room and really nice, that how I imagined how a hotel has to be, I was really suprised. Many different choices, nicely arranged.
The menu is short and has a good selection of food. Local and seasonal vension and vines, tradition meals (bavarian) but also vegetarians will find something (Klos mit Soße a classic). All meals are really hight quality and carefully selected. You can sit on the street and watch people walk by or sit inside.
The hotel has a night entrance as well. It's child friendly and designed for international guests. The staff speaks English.
I can only recommend this hotel.

We had to catch the 8 pm Night Watchman's Tour and wanted just a quick dinner at 6 pm. The Italian restaurant across the street from Sonne turned us away because they were totally booked. Sonne was also fully reserved, but we asked if we could just eat right away and quickly. They were flexible enough. We asked for lemonade, and the waitress appear confused, then told us she has bitter lemon. It came in bottles and was really good lemonade!
The food was OK, though nothing too special. The restaurant is on a shopping street leading to the town square. I suspect it would be pleasant sitting out front. But you better have a reservation.
By the way, Sonne and Reichshüchenmeister Restaurant were recommended to us by a front desk staff at our hotel (not Sonne, obviously). She also said that none of the restaurant on the Town square was any good.

Our family stumbled upon this hotel’s outdoor cafe on a scenic side street in Rothenburg. Our servers were a bit aloof, but our lunch was good. One son had a delicious roast pork and the other had a nice weiner schnitzel. My cream of asparagus soup was very good. Prices were a bit high for lunch.
