When staying inside the wall this is our favorite hotel. The room was comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. The hotel offered a secured parking area and a dining area. Our favorite thing about this hotel was the ability to walk into the center of town. I never felt unsafe at all. This hotel will always have our business each time we visit this beautiful city.

It was our first trip to Germany and we greatly enjoyed Rothenburg. The hotel, as mentioned in their description, functions more like a B and B. We had the romantic four poster bed room - we loved it. The breakfast was first rate. Quiet location within the walls of the city and only a few blocks from everything. The location was outstanding and easy to find. Parking was worth the small fee. Walter was an excellent source of restaurant advice, things to do and even sold low cost, good wine at reception!
Unfortunately, my father passed away while we were there and we were forced to return back to Canada early. Walter was kind enough to cancel some of our later reservations, waived the cost of our last booked night and was a model of kindness to us during a difficult time. Thanks again, Walter, and we LOVED the bottle of jam we brought home!
We plan to finish the trip one day and would very much hope to return to Walter's hotel.

This Hotel has off road parking for a few Euros and a very welcoming host. There is no bar or evening meal however restaurants are only a couple of minutes away from the hotel. We stand in the annex and we had a huge 4 poster bed and room, very nice. Breakfast was in the main building and was very good, there is a communal tea/coffee table in the annex with biscuits etc for guests.
We would stay again in the Hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for an annex room

We stayed here for one night on our tour of Bavaria and Austria. Rothenberg is just charming from the moment you step inside the walls. It took us about 15 minutes to walk from the train station to the hotel. Thankfully my son had his Google directions as it was a bit off the main road. Upon our arrival at the desk, we met a man who I assume was the manager or owner of the hotel. He gave us great suggestions on where to eat and what to do. Our room had ample space for 3 people which was a welcome surprise as we had stayed in tight quarters at the previous hotels. The beds were not very comfortable and the pillows were small. I expect the owner would have given us extra pillows had we requested them. The other downside was the shower head came off as I was taking my shower, and the threads had been worn so I could not reattach. However, the manager's good nature and eagerness to see the guests enjoy themselves made up for the other shortcomings.

Room Tip: Rothenberg has cobblestone streets so it will be difficult to avoid the noise of the cars.

Stayed two nights and was able to leave the car in the parking area for 4 euros a night. We had a large room on the ground floor but there was no traffic noise to disturb us as it was a quiet road. It was unusual, but appreciated, to have tea/coffe making facilities in the corridor. Breakfast was good with a wide selection.
Situated within the town walls it is a short walk to the centre, numerous restaurants, shops etc. We took up our host's suggestions to go on the Night Watchman tour and for the Zur Hoel restaurant which was excellent. He also advised on the best sections of the walls. In summary an ideal base to explore this amazing town.
