if you come from the railway station this gate serves as an entrance to the wonders of Munich. Whether here for shopping or festivals this is the place to start your journey. The area behind the gate is always crowded with people eager to explore the mysteries of this great city. There are so many tings to do it is easy to miss the intricacies of this gate, but those with an eye for detail will see them.

Impressive gates gothic style that is the start of the pedestrianised street that take you to Marienplatz. Arched opening to walk along the shops. Great photo opportunity and lots of prior taking pictures.

Visited the christmas market and walked through Karls Gate on our way to the Hofbrauhaus. It is worth stopping and looking up to take in the LEGO-esque beaty of these gates.

Coming form the Munich Main RR Station (Hafbhanhof) Karls Gate is one the first things you will to know your are going in the correct direction to see Marienplatz. it is an eye catcher and worth photographing. As gates go, it is attractive and historical in nature. Other than being there as a landmark and photo op it is the gate way to more attractive and interesting sights
