I am drawn to European churches due to their architecture, history and place in society. This was a favorite. Also drawn to views, the walk up the tower provided a lot of anticipation. The view was incredible. The Alps could be seen in one direction. The market was interesting from this perspective and the main square was stunning. There were a group of students behind me and then another large group behind them. After a few minutes, there were too many folks at the top to enjoy the space and I descended.

St. Peter's church was the first church in Munich we explored, and it's worth even a quick visit. The churches in Munich are very friendly to outsiders taking a peek, and they are extremely gorgeous inside. This church was one of my favorites, with a huge sanctuary area that makes you feel tiny when inside. Even if you only spend a few minutes, it's worth popping inside to see it.

Pretty but fairly straightforward church. The best part is the view from the top of the church. A challenging climb but if fit enough it’s worth it.
