Hotel Alpenrose was an ideal overnight in the charming town of Mittenwald. The location was great as it is on the incredibly charming main street. It is walking distance to a great hike at the nearby Leutaschklamm gorge (you can hike into Austria).

Our room was basic, clean, and comfortable. We also enjoyed the food at the restaurant, and breakfast was consistent with many of the other pensions and guesthouses we stayed at during the trip. Definitely an ideal spot to stay when in Mittenwald!

We had a little trouble finding the parking area for the hotel, although it is marked, We were on the 3rd floor (no lift) overlooking the main street. The hotel has no AC, so leaving the windows open is a must in warm weather. Friday nite was very busy in town, and it was very noisy on the street, went on until the last of the party goers left at 2:00am, then the church bells started at 6:00am. Room was smallish as was the bathroom, but clean. Staff were nice, particularly the guy who took care of the breakfast. Unless you are the party sort, I would avoid the weekends.

Room tip: can be noisy in the front of the hotel

Charming hotel in beautiful Mittenwald.
The room was comfortable and clean and the en-suite bathroom was lovely with a large shower cubicle. I would have liked a blind or curtain to cover the bathroom window though as I did feel a bit exposed.
The food in the restaurant was very good and it had a traditional feel.
There was free parking nearby which was useful.
There was no lift which might make carrying the luggage to rooms difficult for some people.

A very picturesque hotel in a stunning village. So clean and beautiful with endless frescos and flowers. The only negatives were that the church bells (only 10metres away) chimed all through the night - very loud! Food good, room clean, staff helpful- would go again but with ear plugs. NB no lift and has a spiral staircase between floors one and two so if you have mobility problems make sure you discuss when booking

A lovely setting in the beautiful town of MIttenwald. An easy walk from the station. Comfortable room, nice shower. My only issue was with heat, and to be fair, it was a couple of very hot days that we stayed here. Our room overlooked the outside eating area, so opening a window let cigarette smoke into our room and closing the Windows left us uncomfortably hot. There was a noise factor too with both the music (which I actually enjoyed ) and the church bells.
The reception staff were lovely. They did laundry for me for an extremely modest fee.
The restaurant food was delicious and the oom-pa-pa band playing in the evening was a great touch.

Room tip: Avoid the rooms on the street side of the hotel in summer (the view is lovely though!!)
