You may have read that we had already visited nice places Lyon to get good local experience:

We made the call to finish with a Michelin starred restaurant and we found Jérémy Galvan Restaurant which basically was still closed when we did the booking as we were walking by. Quite lucky actually as they were cleaning the place to be ready for the next day and we realised that the place was totally full!

The pictures are talking by themselves… we firstly decided to go for the 7 courses “Lacher prise” menu but after having tasted the amuse-bouche, we made the decision to go for the 9 courses instead! This decision was based on the quality of the amuses as they were just killing!

We appreciated the creativity of the chef as it was clearly more than just the items on the menu card but delights nicely presented, impeccable service with a smile and sense of humor, capable wine waiter who could find the right matches, fresh products and all this for a price matching the 1 Michelin star standards…

I have a bemol though… one unisex toilet is a bit too short when the place is full, it may sound trivial but this is a detail that marks people and some might be shocked by this… the other point but this is really minor… the painting job in the room has not been completed… another couple of hours of work and it would be completely finished… and for me to be complete, it would have been so nice if the chef would have said hi to his customers… I won’t mention the heat as it was clearly exceptional!

I really had to mention these but our experience has been fantastic and I really recommend the place as the quality is really up there and flawless, I would not hesitate to go back there and spend a long evening sipping good wine and taste the chef’s instinct as it is worth it!!! GO & ENJOY!

We were pleased and a bit surprised to get a table at short notice at Jérémy Galvan Restaurant and how lucky were we! This was the dining highlight of our trip in Europe. A lovely contemporary restaurant setting (very comfortable chairs), the staff were very welcoming and pleasant. The menu, we chose 7 and 9 course degustation, was fabulous.
The food was clever, thoughtful and delicious, with some unusual flavor combinations that worked really well. The evening was punctuated with some elements of surprise that enhanced the entire food journey. Jérémy Galvan took the time to speak with us and we were delighted to be able to have a conversation in French with him and express our thanks for the wonderful evening. I hope it is not too long before we can return to enjoy another memorable meal at this restaurant.

We arrived in Lyon this afternoon. We asked the concierge at our hotel, Cour des Loges, to see if we could get a table while in town for a few days. We were rewarded with an early booking (7:30 PM) this very evening. We ate from the a la carte menu because we knew we didn’t have room for the tasting menus. We could not have had a better meal! The amuse bouches were amazing. Little samples of well-combined flavours. And, the last surprise really did amuse both us AND our bouches! Great tastes and a little theatre - it made the start of the evening even more enjoyable than we expected. We only managed a starter and a main on top of that, but every dish was “top notch”. We won’t bore you with lengthy descriptions, but we have never had better dishes elsewhere. The foie gras, Brussels sprouts and beetroot starter was a slight stand out - but to be honest, it has been a long time since we have eaten dinner out and enjoyed it this much. All the dishes were great. The service was also excellent - helpful and friendly. If you get a chance to visit here - take it! Our only regret is that we only had room for two courses! Have to go back again!

Jeremy Galvan is a young chef, and with already one Michelin star to his credit, he has an extraordinary future. We were lucky enough to dine there, at his beautiful intimate restaurant, the evening he chose to prepare his take on a Christmas dinner. Galvan masterfully combined innovation and tradition in a seven course menu where every single plate was impeccable. Galvan's take on the great classic Lièvre a la royale was simply out if this world. Bravo Jeremy, bravo !
