We opened the front door of the hotel to see steep stairs that turned to the left. The stairs were carpeted with very old and very worn oriental carpeting. The decor was indescribable - very strange. We had to carry our bags up the stairs to the check in desk, although the man on duty helped us and was very kind. The rooms were small, but clean, although the mirrored doors on the closet had some kind of bizarre contact paper covering spots where the mirror was broken. The picture of the hotel shown on Trip Advisor makes it look like a white building on a corner, but the “front” is just a door in the middle of the block. On our second day, we asked about getting a cab (the phones in our rooms did not work) and we were promised that a cab would pick us up at the door at our requested time. When no cab showed up, I climbed the stairs again, only to find out from a different person that no cab had been called.

We stayed in room 46.... loved it!!!
Quiet for the most part( a bit of construction across street in the morning but did not bother us )
Great, friendly staff!!! Really good breakfast and fresh squeezed orange juice!

The staff are very friendly. The hotel is clean, well looked after, conveniently located for access to the old port and good value for money. Decoration is simple but adequate. The immediate location is slightly shabby but value outweighs this.

Hotel Saint Ferreol is a great option if you want a good value for your money. The reception staff was always very helpful with our questions and was able to communicate in English quite adeptly. The location is just a few blocks away from the Old Port, on a pedestrian street, which makes it a great choice for being able to see the sights in this area--or to connect with public transportation that will get you all around the city. It's an easy 15 minute walk to the TGV train station. The exterior door locks after dark, which provides an extra layer of security.
On the downside, the wifi was very spotty and could not be used reliably. There were no English TV channels, and the reception area (where the elevator is) requires you to bring your luggage up one flight of stairs.
Overall, we were very impressed with the attention to detail that we received from the owners and their staff. We felt like this was a very good value and were glad to have an opportunity to experience a

The location of this cute little hotel is unbeatable, right on the main shopping street and opposite the galerie Lafayette, just 2 blocks to the water front. The brunch was intimate and peaceful. Not like those big hotels with large bars and people lined up. Rooms are very clean and comfortable and the staff was very helpful and friendly and I had no language problem whatsoever. I found the price very reasonable considering the quality of the hotel.
