Hotel Saint Ferreol is a great option if you want a good value for your money. The reception staff was always very helpful with our questions and was able to communicate in English quite adeptly. The location is just a few blocks away from the Old Port, on a pedestrian street, which makes it a great choice for being able to see the sights in this area--or to connect with public transportation that will get you all around the city. It's an easy 15 minute walk to the TGV train station. The exterior door locks after dark, which provides an extra layer of security.
On the downside, the wifi was very spotty and could not be used reliably. There were no English TV channels, and the reception area (where the elevator is) requires you to bring your luggage up one flight of stairs.
Overall, we were very impressed with the attention to detail that we received from the owners and their staff. We felt like this was a very good value and were glad to have an opportunity to experience a

The location of this cute little hotel is unbeatable, right on the main shopping street and opposite the galerie Lafayette, just 2 blocks to the water front. The brunch was intimate and peaceful. Not like those big hotels with large bars and people lined up. Rooms are very clean and comfortable and the staff was very helpful and friendly and I had no language problem whatsoever. I found the price very reasonable considering the quality of the hotel.

Marseille central!! 5 minute walk to Old Port and neighbours with Louis Vuitton, Galeries Lafayette and all the usual suspects. Shopper’s Paradise! Small, probably family-run. Don’t be put off by central staircase to cramped reception ( faded carpet). It’s clean, comfortable (big) bed if all you need is a sleep for the night or afternoon siesta. The rest of the time you’ll be out in the town!! If you like spending lots of time in your hotel room, pampering yourself and watching movies with room service, this place is not for you! We paid 140 euros for 2 nights and enjoyed the city!!

Great hotel in a small side street of a busy shopping street. Very quiet rooms, great staff, clean, good bed, lovely bathroom with walk-in shower. Only 5 minutes from Vieux Port.
There are plenty of lively bars and restaurants around the corner and the hotel is located in the heart of the shopping district.
The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Great value.

Our first room smelled of cigarette smoke. Luckily we could change although the were not very happy with our complaints. In the second room the smell was not excellent either and the bathroom ceiling was full of mold.
