Hotel had a very good location, it's near hotel Negresco and only 3 min. walk to the sea.
The stuff was friendly. Rooms were clean. We didn't include breakfast but for 7 euros it was good.
Near hotel are many boulangeries and cafes.

I stayed with a friend at the Hotel De France for three nights. The hotel is 5 mins walk from the bus stop which serves the airport (which was a short 20min journey and very reasonably priced). The centre of Nice is a pleasant 10 min walk away, but the beach and promenade are only 3 minutes away. The hotel does not have a lift and wifi is only really strong enough in communal areas. The hotel and rooms are a little dark due to the choice of colours for the décor and would benefit enormously from redecorating with lighter colours (whites and lavender would be so much more Provence!). The room and bathroom were small, but were very clean and adequate for somewhere to just wash and rest as there is so much to see and do in Nice you won’t want to spend much time in your hotel! The hotel is very close to a number of cafes and bakeries so there are plenty of delicious traditional and authentic breakfast options. The staff were friendly, courteous and welcoming and they were very helpful in storing our luggage for us on our last day. A good value for money, very central, clean and basic hotel, would recommend for a city break on a budget.

This two star hotel is conveniently located being only a 5 minute walk from the Promenade Des Anglais, and a 10 minute walk from the nearest bus stop for the airport. Unfortunately it is looking tired and could well do with some decoration and refurbishment. Rooms are clean and comfortable, although dated. Breakfast is advertised at €7.00 extra but offers a poor selection and is really not worth bothering with given the number of cafes that are within less than 5 minutes walk; the nearest is right next door to the hotel entrance.

I stayed in Hotel de France for three nights with a friend. The location was very close to the sea, but quite a walk from town. The wifi is seriously limited to the common areas of the hotel only. The reception staff varied, some were friendly, but we were given sarcastic remarks twice about our requests and got given completely incorrect information about where Ville Franche is.
The hotel room was small, but clean.

We stayed here as a couple for 2 nights. We stayed at the top with no lift access. Although only 3 flights one of the party didn't have good knees and so struggled as a result. Customer service was average no exceptional help with touring information. Room was clean but bathroom was small and toilet lid broken and shower area small with shower head not staying upright much.
No information about wifi and how to get to and from airport even though it advertises and shuttle. Usually you get a piece of paper with travel and wifi details nothing of sort.
Ordered double bed and it was 2 single beds joined together so kept falling into gap in between (no double beds available). Breakfast was €10 for toast croissant and juice
Location is good near the promenade so easy walk. Overall an average experience as the price was €100 which is quite dear for a 2* hotel with limited facilities. Positive is location: Negative is shower, bed, wifi
