We were lucky to find Hotel Le Lausanne late arrival to Nice. The staff at the front desk were so courteous, Arthur, Katherine and Ahmed were wonderful making every effort to make it feel like our home. The rooms were spotless and the beds comfortable with 2 pillows. We moved from 119 to 216 for a little bigger room and had good storage space for clothes and suitcases. Friends were in 416 and a Queen bed. Breakfast was 10 Euro, cooking your own eggs as soft or hard boiled and many bread, fruit and some meat selections. Short walk to the train station or the Mediterranean, perfect!

Stayed here at short notice due to one of the many strikes in France by civil servants causing the cancellation of hundreds of flights at no notice.
Easy to get there the airport bus drops you 5 minute walk away, also 23 bus if the time suits. (Thiers/Gambetta) is the closest stop (Thiers is the name of the central train station nearby).
Nice welcome by the lady on reception, old style lift to the room.
Small room, but everything worked including good air con.
No kettle or minibar or fridge in the room, so I wouldn’t stay there for more than one night.
Just a few minutes walk to Gare Thiers or Centre of town.
Good sound insulation on windows which are security locked and may be a problem for some.
The staff had no problem minding luggage on check out day.

The hotel is situated in the middle between the centre of the city and the promenade de anglais, do you can walk everywhere including the old town. The hotel itself is very clean and the front of staff are really nice. The area is quiet and feels safe. Only cons are the fact that there is no hairdryer in the room and as lovely as the 1920 lift is, it is really small if you have a large suitcase.

Dear Guest, Thanks for posting this comment.

Hotel Lausanne boasts a prime location in the old city of Nice, at walking distance with the seafront Promenade des Anglais, restaurants, shops and entertainment venues. Public transportation is also nearby with railway station Nice-Thiers and TGV 600 m away from our building. We value your mention on our hotel's cleanliness and quietness. Your compliment will be conveyed to the reception team. We take note of your remark about our charming ancient lift built in 1920 with perfect maintenance service. As a reminder, we do provide hair dryer.

We would be thrilled to host you anew. Jean Lecuyer, director.

This is an old hotel, small rooms, not fully modernized. There is A/C and wifi, but the heaters are old-fashioned radiators and there is only a tub with a wand, no curtain or shower. There are no beverages in the room (except tap water). Even getting just a cup of coffee from the buffet downstairs was 3 euro extra. I put out the "do not disturb" sign for a late morning in the room, but got no service in the afternoon despite putting out the "please service" sign.

The location is good. It's about five blocks from the beach, with plenty of commerce nearby. The rooms were clean, except for the nasty odor. The area seems safe.

Hotel is in a great location, walking distance from everything but just out of the way so it is quiet at night.
Rooms were great, cleaned daily and thankfully had air con.
Staff were very polite and helpful, especially Eva and Salim, thank you both.
Would definitely recommend and would stay again.
