On arrival we thought the hotel was shut because it is under going renovations and looks like a building site.
They seem to be adding an additional level which they really need to inform guests of in advance . We were woken at 7 am and 8am by builders banging above us. We complained and on the 3rd morning it was 9am. The hotel have an arrangement that there is to be no noise before 10am but the builders obviously do not know how to tell the time.

The hotel compensated us for this .

Apart from this everything else about our stay here is positive. The receptionists were very helpful and pleasant our bedding, towels and room were cleaned every day. Our room had the biggest bed we have ever slept in and we had plenty of room to store our bikes safely.
I missed having tea facilities in my room but there was a complimentary drinks station in the entrance and I would recommend breakfast of Ham, cheese boiled eggs , fruit , yoghurts croissants.
The machine that makes fresh orange juice is fab ( I want one )
Nice pool but lots of small crying children . ( been there done that)

Once the building work is finished this will be a fabulous hotel and deserve a score of 100% but because we were not informed we are scoring lower .

Thank you to the receptionists for looking after us so well.

We stayed, 3 people for 2 days at Ibis Avignon Sud. The room was tiny, no place to store or open suitcases, the only place was on the floor in front of bathroom. Claustrophobic almost. No lift. We had dinner one evening, stay away from aioli, should think that aioli in France should be excellent, but was coarse and tasted awful and so did the bearnaise. Positive: Friendly staff at front desk. Good and quiet A/C. Breakfast ok, you have to boil your own egg, but no eggcup! (Should not cost to much to offer) Coffee good. Parking outside free and spacious. Hotel is neighbor to motorway, but quiet inside. Ibis is ok, but all very basic.

We stayed as we were catching the Eurostar back to England next day, the gentleman on reception when we checked in was very nice and helpful and took our heavy suitcase upstairs. Downstairs had obviously been updated and very nice. Bedroom needed updating as did bathroom, very tired looking. The same with the pool, needed a good sweep and clear up, the shower didn’t work, no handrail to get into the pool, weeds growing and not enough umbrellas, which was a shame, because it could be a lovely Area as it gets busy. The waitress were young and miserable, but the chef did know about gluten free and made me a fish kebab, which was very nice.

Booked ahead the previous night and this was the closest we could get to Avignon. Staff very helpful about how to get into the middle of Avignon and where to park. Hotel itself was clean, quiet and had good meals. Well worth being a few kms out of the centre of town.

Just a short distance from the city center, next to the entrance road. But: quiet, peaceful and very good staff, they are extremely friendly and speak very well in several languages. The rooms are fragrant, clean, true Ibis, the restaurant is small but welcoming. Overall: great place.
