Stayed here for 4 nights..lovely small hotel a few minutes walk from the main part of the old town where shops/restaurants/bars are situated; quiet location away from the hustle and bustle however there is a busy road for right outside the hotel which quietens down at night. Our very comfortable room was situated away from the front and although we had no views it was very peaceful, the room itself was quite spacious and comfortable, fabulous shower with both hand held and large overhead shower and water was always hot. Room spotlessmy clean with quality of linen and towels excellent. All staff were extremely helpful and polite...nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast is charged at €9 For full buffet which was ok ish! adequate but nothing special... or alternatively €4.50 For hot drink/juice and a couple of small pastries...however there are a couple of patisseries close by where excellent croissant and coffee are served. This is a gem of a hotel with a great location and affordable price in this lovely but rather expensive city.

Stayed a couple of days in May. Good location, spotlessly clean hotel; friendly, pleasant and helpful staff. Roof terrace is a lovely calm spot. Breakfast very good too. The room was very comfortable- really good nights' sleep.

Hotel du Globe is a tiny bit off the main drag and that is a good thing. Right now there is construction in Aix and the market, normally on the grand place by the Palais du Justice has moved to the Cours Mirabeau and environs. This means at 7:00 am 3 days a week trucks roll up and start unloading with bravado. Noise, noise, noise. They are just doing their job. Walk along the Cour Sextius near the thermal baths and you will find an oasis of calm. Hotel du Gobe is unassuming in its facade, but don't let that plain face fool you. Recently updated, all rooms are welcoming and calm. I prefer the courtyard but even windows facing the street are quiet. Staff is multilingual and competent. The "joker" here is the amazing roof top terrace where you can take a bottle of wine, sit and relax and even picnic if you want. I don't know of any other hotel in Aix that offers this oasis. Aix in itself is small - really small- and this hotel is where you want to be.

Room Tip: Courtyard is quiet - street views have little balconies

The Hotel du Globe is a great little French hotel at a convenient location. Excellent but inexpensive breakfast. Very friendly and competent front desk staff. We will definitely go back there when visiting Aix-en-Province again.

Remember to reserve your spot in their private garage (fairly wide and on street level) on the same premises of the hotel. I found that the best deal is offered on their own website. The hotel is easy to find and is at close proximity to action. Room comfortable. Staff friendly.
