We hired all three gites with friends for our two week holiday.
The accommodation was well set up and the facilities where perfect for families needing to relax.
Around the area there was lots to see and do and Kim and Jim where always on hand to assist if needed.
Our favourites where Futurescope , valley of the monkeys and all the little towns and villages to explore.
Finally if you have a birthday during your stay as we did take Kim up on her offer of making a chocolate cake ,( best £5 I have spent in ages ).
Thanks Kim & Jim for a fab stay.
The Abernethy's ( the borders, Scotland.)
I know a gîte isn't everyone's idea of a perfect holiday but we have 20 month old, boy/girl, twins. And we loved it!!
To our surprise when we got there we were the only booking that week (with others leaving the morning we arrived and some arriving the evening we left) so we had the run of the place. The twins loved it, the gardens were large and safe, the pool area was perfect and we went in there most days.
We stopped in the detached gîte with a large double bedroom, two travel cots and there was still plenty of space for another double bed if need be.
Jim and Kim (the owners) were fantastic, nothing was too much for them. They are hidden away in their own gîte but make you well aware that they are only a knock away. They suggested some restraunts for us to eat at but we very happy with the cooking facilities in the gîte.
There is a large super (super U) market is only 10/15 minutes away and also a small co-op 5 minutes away (I'd only really go there for essentials as it was rather pricey.
There are BBQ areas available too. We didn't manage to have one but next time it will be a must!!
The games room is where we spent most of our time with a full sized pool table, ping pong and table football.
There is a 6 hole crazy golf course too behind the smaller gîte.
A laundry and ironing room are also onsite.
We have spoken to Jim and Kim about stopping next summer and hopefully bringing the rest of the family with us.
I can't say enough about this fantastic rental property. For the second year in a row we have had a superb holiday. Normally we like to rent a different property every year but as last year was so successful we decided to return. The property is ideal for families with a secure garden with plenty of leisure activities for all, table tennis, snooker, crazy golf. The old farm itself is set in a peaceful picturesque hamlet. The converted barn we stayed in was very clean and had plenty of space for a family a five. The pool area is also very safe and a great area to relax around with plenty of comfortable sun loungers. Finally the owners Kim and Jim could not be more helpful and welcoming. They are discreet but are more than happy to help if there are any issues.

We hired the 3 Gites as a larger group with young families. The area is very secure allowing kids to run around in a central communal area. Great for socialising.
Kim and Jim were very understanding and accommodating and provided everything we needed for our comfort and convenience.
A few of us took our road bikes for a few quick spins - very quiet and beautiful roads but a little flat.
The place is isolated but that's its strong point. It was good to sit out at night with friends and a few drinks whilst the kids safely asleep in the Gites right next to us.
Things to do....
I can recommend the Velorail in Chavigny a must, trip to La Rochelle (esp the aquarium and harbours) and the Vallee des Singes (Monkey park).
All in all cant fault it - Thanks Kim and Jim for a great easy week.
Nice relaxing holiday spent in this countryside setting. The owners were very helpful. The cottage was great and had everything we needed. A good base for visiting nearby attractions. Will book for next year before we leave.
