There were four of us and we sat outside. It was a lovely restaurant, attentive service and they were friendly. We had smoked duck salad, chicken Caesar salad and the chicken cassoulet, all excellent. Nice touches like cheesy sauce with bread at the start, lovely puds and a shot of cherry licquer to finish (on the house). We hope the rest of the meals out this trip will be as good!,

Over night stay in Le Mans & a very luck find. We explored the cobbled back streets near the Square de la vieille Porte, and found a queue outside a pleasant street seating Bistrot and checked the menu. Simple menu of local dishes and buzzing location made us ask for a table. We joined the queue (which didn't abate for the next hour) & 10 minutes later, seated with a glass of Champagne and we then ordered and enjoyed lovely food with attentive friendly staff despite the busy Saturday night crowd. Highly recommend, 2 & 3 courses, a bottle of wine (on top of the Champagne), a complimentary Cherry Brandy, 75 Euros. Enjoy.

Set in the middle of the old town, this was recommended to us by our hotel reception. We were not disappointed. We didn’t have a reservation but managed to get an outside table on a lovely evening. Hubby and I shared the fois gras as a starter and then for mains I had the lamb casserole and hubby had the chicken. Both served with the most fabulous, delicious whipped potato with mushrooms. Truly to die for. Definitely recommend giving this place a go.

It's a fabulous place to eat. The food, the ambiance and the service. Set in the medieval quarter of Le Mans, this restaurant will not disappoint. Try to get a table outside in warmer weather.
