I've known la pasta Tinto for at least 20 years and it's always been one of my favourite restaurants in Rouen for its simplicity, yummy home made pasta and warm welcome by the brothers running it.
The lunch offer has always been very good value, their 5 pasta dish and tiramisu amazing. Favourites of mines have always been the 4 cheeses pasta, the carbonara, the gorgonzola pasta and the tiramisu (one of the best I've tasted).
Now living abroad I haven't been able to go to years but just returned to la pasta tinto last weekend for dinner with local friends and family who all loved it, and I can say that it has stayed the same brilliant restaurant I knew years ago, including the great welcome. My friends who didn't know the restaurant all said they'll be back again, and we will continue to return on our visits to Rouen.

This is a restaurant where pasta are made fresh each day and their pasta are delicious. The staff is welcoming, efficient and friendly at once. There is a kids menu for €8. It is a safe bet for families.

When in France an Italian restaurant is a good way for the vegetarian to escape from the French reluctance to serve only vegetables. This restaurant met all expectations in this respect for our veggie diner and for we carnivores the good variety of seafood in pasta and salads was excellent. One of our party went for veal and found it tough but we have to say the minestrone soup was about the best we have ever sampled.
We dined on a Tuesday evening and found it very busy - and very reasonably priced.

We have just had the most wonderful meal at Pasta Tinto. With a 2 year old menace in tow some of our restaurant experiences have been far from enjoyable due to a tiny person getting board, kicking off and making us think the Mc Donald's or a take away and park bench would be more enjoyable but this evening we wanted to end our holiday with something special and we are so pleased we chose here.
Firstly the front of house could not have been more welcoming, we were offered a high chair and given an English speaking waitress to look after our needs, take our order etc. We were given colouring pens and paper along with children books to keep our tiny person amused and the service was efficient and speedy!
The food was very tasty and reasonably priced, as were the drinks. The Grand Cafe Mason desert was fantastic.
We were then given a fond farewell and gift for our daughter. We could not have asked for more. Thank you Pasta Tinto.

What a lovely little restaurant. We went in not speaking very good French. We were seated and greeted by a lovely waitress who chatted with us in English and recommended some amazing food. Lovely atmosphere, reasonable prices and fantastic food!!
