I stayed here for six nights for official work at the University of Rouen. Lovely building with old flair, centrally located, very friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast, large, comfortable and very clean rooms. I was in Room 8. That had a lot of space. Very smooth checking in and checking out. Walking distance to cathedrales, shops, tourist information office, old city. The breakfast offers a lot of choice. No one bothers you. You can have a hearty breakfast at your leisure. There is an elevator. So no trouble with luggage. The reception is closed after 9 pm, but they give you key to the main door as well. The heating was very good. Free wifi provided. Somehow I couldn't connect to wifi from my netbook, but the mobile phone worked perfectly with wifi.

The lovely hotel cat welcomes guests (who love cats - and all animals as to that matter) and would accompany me to the room every time I returned to the hotel. He won't enter the room, but knew exactly in what room I was and run before me on the stairs and wait near my room. It gives a very homely feeling when you have such lovely pets. It was like being at home.

I will stay here again if and when I come to Rouen again. It's a lovely city with no hustle and bustle with a great transport service

Room Tip: I saw a few rooms on the first floor. All looked great

The hotel is located in the historic centre of Rouen, just 2 minutes walk from the Cathedral and the Eglise de Saint Maclou. The hotel is a 17th century building with lots of charming details, the room was clean and fine, and the breakfast was good with lots of choice. The location of the hotel is really central, you have easy access to the historic heart of Rouen and there are great shopping and lovely cafes as well. Comfortable walking shoes are essential, as there are lots of cobbeled strees.

A quaint old hotel in an excellent position for exploring the City. Very welcoming and charming - not to be missed. Parking just down the road does not create difficulties as you can pull up a few yards from the Hotel front door and unload luggage before parking.

Very central, close to the main tourist sites and equidistant between some of the nice restaurants and bars.

My reaction when entering the room sums up this review; “quaint”.

It had everything you need and was clean. Shower could have been better, on the whole, it was nice.

They had a very friendly (but strangely proportioned) cat.

We picked this hotel as it was central and Dog friendly with an enclosed courtyard. It did not disappoint. Parking was off street (5 minutes away). Metered. The courtyard must be fantastic in the summer for shade, but equally in November was sheltered enough to drink coffee outside. Don’t expect grandeur.....I needn’t have upgraded to superior as my friend’s room was practically the same. Very twee decor if that’s your thing. No bar, but not needed as everything is nearby. Twee theme is throughout the hotel but the building is authentic. Rouen is lovely. Do stop here for an interlude.

Room Tip: Don’t bother upgrading to superior room
