My family and I had a lovely stay in one of their family (chalet) rooms with outdoor space. It was so relaxing, which is just what we needed. The owner was very welcoming and you can see how much care and attention was poured into this place. It is located within a short drive to Rye, a picturesque, historical place.

Would definitely visit again and stay here!

What I really liked:
- the service
- the concept (colourful chalets, motel arrangements)
- how close it was to Rye (12 min drive)
- that you can check in and then have some drinks and food in a pub located next door
- it was rather clean
- how quiet it was despite being located not too far away from the road
- the shower

What I did not like:
- the price, taking into account how simple the accommodation is
- dust here and there
- lack of flexibility when it comes to breakfast hours (from 9 to 10)
- mismatched towels and furniture (nice colours tho!)

All in all, admittedly the negatives are petty (minus the price). It was a lovely stay and I would certainly recommend the place to stay. Food wise it was ok but nothing exciting or mind blowing. 4 stars as it was very good but not excellent, in my humble opinion.

The signage invited us to wine dine and stay-so hungry and tired after a full day of sightseeing we dropped in for dinner. The bar and restaurant were almost full, a good sign. A table was made available and drinks and menu offered. We chose starters of baked Brie with fresh salad and crusty bread, it was excellent as we're the main courses which arrived hot and tasty and best of all with fresh crisp salads. Table service met our highest expectations and the genuine warmth and friendliness melted our hearts and our fatigue. Indoors and out The Oak offers the best of British country loveliness together with great food and a warm welcome. Highly recommended.

We rocked up at 9 o'clock on friday night after being stuck in traffic thirsty and starving. Even though the kitchen had officially closed they bent over backwards to make sure we had plenty to eat.

Food was first class, beer was spot on, extremely friendly, but not obtrusive, can't recommend it highly enough.

Thank you very much.

Clean and comfortable chalets. Basic but lacking nothing....maybe a chair might be useful. A walk in shower with lashings of hot water. The pub food is very well cooked and of generous portions, as is the yummy breakfast which is served in the bar area. You will find a warm welcome, whether alone or as a family. We feel that staff went above and beyond to make our stay pleasurable and have no hesitation in recommending The Oak.
A big thank you from Richard and Pauline.
