My family of 5 stayed at the manor for 4 nights and we were very disappointed. The hotel did not appear to be a 4 Star hotel as it did not have air conditioning, the rooms were very tired looking, and the one single bath towel and one single hand towel each member of our family received was rough and old. We had two rooms on the bottom floor right next to the lobby. One room was in the very front of the manor and had a very large window. The room was 96 degrees when we arrived as it was a hot day, the drapes were open, and the small fan was not turned on. The other room was 94 degrees and did not even have a fan - we were given a small fan after two requests. When we turned the fans on, the rooms were still very warm as the fans were small, so we had to open the windows. The window of one room was located near the outdoor tables where guests eat breakfast, enjoy snacks throughout the day , and sip wine in the evening. When guests smoked (which was almost constantly), the smoke went directly into our room. Guests would look into our window at all hours of the day and night. Three times during our 4 day stay, I woke up during the night to someone staring at me through the window. This was truly an uncomfortable and expensive experience from a very average hotel lacking any privacy. I highly suggest that the owners do not rent our subpar expensive room. If they do, they should at least build a fence or add shrubbery so other guests cannot peek in the windows at all times of the day and night. Moving the tables away from the window would also be helpful. The manor was very quaint and in a good location while the staff was friendly and the breakfast was nice. I just do not consider my experience worth the thousands of dollars we paid during our stay, nor do I feel the hotel is a 4 Star hotel - even if the rooms had airconditioning and privacy. Three stars would be more appropriate, but only if the privacy issues are corrected.
