“Great Location!”

For us this accommodation was just perfect. The location could not really have been better, sitting on the main street of Bayeux with a view of the cathedral out of the back window and the main shopping street out the front windows. The tapestry was just a 5 minute walk away.

It is situated on the 3rd floor of an old complex, the walk in through a dark alleyway is a little concerning, but when you get inside and see the modern and beautifully decorated apartment we were very happy. During the night it was very quiet due to wooden shutters and being 3 stories up. We have a 1yr old baby who slept soundly from about 8pm and there were no noises that disturbed her. There is an en suite in the 2nd bedroom, I don't think that is on the profile. and both bathrooms have a bath, which also was not on the profile and good news to us with the baby. I initially thought the price was high, but when I looked around at all the others and even out of town accommodation I soon realised it is a very good price. Normandy is reasonably expensive and this place is actually good value for its prime location.

The agent, Mr Bailleul is very prompt to respond to any query and even though it was not listed on the profile he sourced a child's high chair for our stay. This was very helpful at no extra cost.

For those with prams, there is a safe and secure area at the bottom of the shared stairs to leave the pram. You don't need to lug it up 2 flights with no lift!

Its just a 15 minute drive to the D day beach GOLD at Arromanche and we walked about 15 minutes to the Bayeux war cemetery and museum.

Free parking was just a 5 minute walk away but there is a pay park just over the road we used for unloading and packing.

We left the owner a few suggestions of small things to improve, such as shower curtains.. and I have no doubt this will be implemented, it is a new letting and they seem to be taking on board any suggestions kindly.

Free WIFI and a DVD player, so bring your English DVDs if you wish to fill time in the evenings, as there are no English TV channels.

I would have no hesitation in returning if we were back in the area.

“Great location!”
Reviewed 31 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

This apartment was in a fabulous location in this delightful town. Wonderful boulangeries and patisseries abound, along with nice shops, and a fantastic Saturday market.

The apartment was fairly well-equipped and although there were only 2 of us, we appreciated having the extra space. We thought that it was a very good value, and would certainly be a bargain for a family or 2 couples (but twin beds in one BR).

Because the apt is in a commercial/"downtown" zone, our taxi driver was in disbelief that we were staying at that address. And be forewarned - this main street of Bayeux changes names many times (4? or was it 3?)...and the building numbering re-starts whenever the street name changes. And there is not always a relationship between the numbers on one side of the street & the other side of the street. Initially, we couldn't find our apt after our first time out!

There are about 3 flights of stairs to get to the apt, so this may be an issue to anyone with mobility issues or too much luggage.

We appreciated the responsiveness and flexibility of the property manager who handled our check in/out.

The drainage in the tub in the 2nd bathroom was very, very slow, and occasionally backed up when using the sink; presumably, this can be blamed on old plumbing. As is often the case when traveling abroad, there was no shower curtain/door in either bathtub...which taught us to take very short showers. And as is sometimes the case when renting apts, there was no soap or shampoo provided...no hair dryer, either.

“Excellent location, good value, clean and comfortable”
Reviewed 28 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

My husband and I stayed in Logis Saint Martin with our adult daughter in May. We were there for 4 nights. They have added Wifi since an earlier review and it worked well. The location is in the heart of the city still provided reasonable access to the Normandy beach sites. We visited Mont St. Michel from there as well. It was wonderful to have the roomy living space after a busy day of touring. The pastry shop on the street level was a plus.

The owner is responsive by phone and internet, though not present . We had some difficulty with the language understanding the local contact. It would have been helpful to have some written information in English pertaining to the house rules: garbage, check out, contact numbers, etc. in the apartment.

The apartment was clean and comfortable. We thought it was a very good value.

“Great apartment in a perfect location for Bayeux and DDay Sights”

We stayed at Logis Saint Martin for 3 nights in late December. Our party included my parents, my husband and me, and our two girls, aged 3 and 1. We found the apartment to be spacious and clean, and centrally located in Bayeux. There was plenty of nearby parking, and we appreciated the ability to walk to shops and restaurants, and especially the bakery just down the road. We also enjoyed easy access to DDay beaches and Mont St. Michel wasn't very far. The apartment is on the 3rd floor, but we found a pretty secure area on the ground floor for our buggy. The owner, Bertrand, was very helpful and great to work with. I'd definitely stay here again, and would recommend it to others as well. It would have been helpful to have WIFI, and Bertrand said he was working on it for early 2014. All in all, we had a fabulous time!

“Centrally located; easy access to key sites”
Reviewed 18 December 2013 for a stay in December 2013

I stayed here for 3D/2N with my family. Good central location. Nicely outfitted (with IKEA furniture and fittings if I may add). It would be excellent if there was a washer/dryer and Wifi access; trying to get Wifi was difficult in the town esp to look up maps, history etc if you dont have local data access.

Just be aware that apartment is on 2nd level though couple of flights of stairs.

Its about a 10 mins walk from the train station which is better than taking a taxi. If you have a car, there is a parking lot across the narrow street but its a paid parking with time limit. Not sure what the deal is if you need to park overnight.

Caretaker was very responsive when there was a issue with the hot water supply.
