La Bottega serves pizzas with great taste, in red (tomato sauce basis), white (cheese basis) or calzone (wrapped) version. The restaurant’s vision is based on local, organic, pure ingredients and even the beers and wines it serves are organic (and local, for the beers).
I had a vegetarian truffle pizza, which was among the best I have tasted, very delicate. Also the others were very good. The food and drinks deserve five stars!
Why four stars overall then? While being in the restaurant we felt like being part of a machine, with staff doing their job mechanically, not particularly nice. This felt really awkward and contradictory to La Bottega’s social and sustainable vision: you’d expect staff to be much more engaged. And happy, for one thing.
So, when walking out, having had to pay at an impersonal counter our aftertaste was mixed. Such a pity. The quality of the pizzas and drinks deserves a fitting, better service alongside.
