This has been our second visit to Sabatou having been so impressed the first time. It was everything and more than described in the listing details. The location is superb and the house is beautifully set out with a full range of facilities to hand. The house was lovely and clean and extremely well maintained by the owner who is very easy to contact and deal with.
We would not hesitate to recommend this property to friends or family as it offers a lot of high quality accommodation in a wonderful setting. Cezac is close to many historic and pretty villages and is an easy drive to Cahors. The area is an animal sanctuary and there are many beautiful walks all around the house where you are very likely to see deer and eagles on a daily basis.
The quality and feel of Sabatou far exceeds any gite we have stayed in over the years when holidaying in France and we cannot recommend it more highly.
Just popping by to say how much we enjoyed our stay at this beautiful house. We have been to France virtually every year for the last 24 years or so and have stayed in many properties and we can safely say that our stay at Le Sabatou was one of the best if not the best we have had. The environment and grounds of the house are truly stunning. With wonderful walks up into the hills and many fascinating birds and insects along with deer and foxes to be seen roaming contently around this 30 acre natural treasure. I even saw on many occasions hummingbird hawk-moths in the lavender bushes and exotic butterflies. Not to mention the wild boar that was heard but not seen. We loved the old part of Cahors which was about 20 minutes drive with its picturesque streets and friendly local bars and restaurants and the whole area around Cezac is very beautiful. The pool was exceptionally clean. The charming house is a good size, clean, comfortable and well maintained. It includes a conservatory overlooking the extensive grounds and a raised covered porch to the front on the house with lovely views. If you can manage to drag yourself away from the peace of Le Sabatou then the nearby hill top villages and markets, including night markets are well worth a visit.
The owner is friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable about the area.
