Well this has to be everyone's favourite? What's not to like as there's so much to see and its all so different..
Its a steep walk around though but worth it
This area stretches far behind Sacre Coeur and i must admit we have only explored the area around the hill the chrurch stands on and can confirm that it is very picturesque. We enjoy exploring the little streets and finding a surprise round every corner.
When visiting the 18th Arrondissement you'll be captivated by hilly Montmartre adorned with the basilica of Sacre Coeur and action packed small winding streets of tourists and young people. Down below is the Moulin Rouge for burlesque, Pigalle for adult activities, fabric district and Marche Barbes area of French North Africans & other Africans - tres diverse. You won't see all of the 18th on your trip, but you'll come back mant times to the 18th. Enjoy. ...
This area has a real buzz about it. Sacre Coeur, the Moulin Rouge and lots of street entertainers in narrow streets filled with shops, bars and restaurants. Hang around here and you know you're in Paris. I was completey blown away. Love it, love it, love it !
I love this area and it has lots of little streets to explore.
Also the film Amelie was set in this arrondissement and you can wander about looking for the places featured including the Cafe des deux Moulins and Maison Colignon grocery store.
