We loved La Barrique so much that we came back a second time, a few nights after our first visit. The main courses we tried were wonderful, particularly the pork fillet Mignon. They do a good steak too. It came with a huge side of chips, and, trying to be healthy, I asked for an extra side of green beans which they provided at no charge!
The waiter who served us both times was really friendly, helping us out with the menu, as my French is not great. He was otherwise happy to have a chat too, and can also give tips for the local area.
The most outstanding item for me was the Cafe Gourmand - a platter of small servings of most of the desserts on the menu, with coffee (you can get tea instead). Being from Australia, we don't have anything like this on our menus; it was delicious, and fun to sample so many of their wonderful treats. Otherwise, if you have to pick one, the Creme brûlée is absolutely to die for.
For us, La Barrique was such a great place to eat and we would definitely return here on our next trip!
