If you want a Parisienne experience, this would be your hotel. It is situated in a great location, cater-corner to the Notre Dame! Easy access to transportation, shops, and cafes. The staff spoke perfect English and were very nice and helpful. The hotel decor is very interesting, designed by Christian Lacroix. We love that you can hear the bells of Notre Dame, but it was not loud or disturbing.
As it is a small boutique hotel, it did not have some of the amenities we are accustomed to. The two biggest challenges were: no elevator from ground to the reception, and painfully slow and weak wifi. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but would try a different hotel next time.

Note: You cannot book just 1 double or standard room if you have 2 adults and a child over 2 yrs old. Our family of 3 can fit in a queen or 2 twin, but the manager insist that we cannot stay in a standard room. Luckily, they had a studio with a loft available for an additional charge.

Very nice hotel. Smaller inside than I expected, but thanks to the mirrors, seems more spacious. Great design by Christian Lacroix immerses you into another world. There are optical illusions everywhere, fantastic combinations of textures and precious color. The design of this hotel is like a real adventure in the world of art. It is a pity that the decor in some places is not very new. I hope the hotel will repair it.
The room had a comfortable bed and bath. We have not suffered from noise, lived at the second floor. The staff was polite and willing to help. We were allowed to have look into a couple of other rooms, all with different designs. I really want to come again and live in different rooms.
Breakfast was good. It's simple, but very tasty. Very convenient location. The streets around the hotel are busy - a lot of souvenir shops, cafes, tourists.

The staff was a really helpful with directions, meal recommendations etc. They spoke English so well. We would have been lost without them. It was very clean and AIR CONDITIONED !! In July in Paris that is a must. The price was right as well. We weren't looking for something really fancy because we would hardly every be in the room. It served our purpose and exceeded our locations. We would definitely go back.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the river and Notre Dame

Great location easy access to anything, numerous cute shops and st Germaine and specially Nora Dame! but the hotel is creepy and the elevator is like a shoe box... Im from America I guess its just something new to me. All I know that it was near everything around Paris and the hotel was small and cozy, the smell is horrible..

Room Tip: Its okay, its just Paris.

I hate writing negative reviews so let me start with the positive. The location is very convenient, right across the street from the RER and less than a block from the metro. The views from some rooms are amazing - for the fews minutes you plan to stay in the room looking out the window, after all you are in Paris why are you sitting in your hotel room! There are tons of restaurants and attractions within walking distance, literally right under and behind the hotel. Sounds amazing right? Now for the negative....don't plan on getting a good night's sleep unless you are a VERY heavy sleeper! Also beware of rooms on lower floors. Let me explain. I checked in late and was given room 11 which is conveniently located in the Lobby right next to the bar! I paid for a room with a view but it's important to note that all views and bathrooms in this hotel are not created equal (will explain later.) So room 11, besides being literally in the lobby is also one level off of the street/cafe below and right over the RER. They claim that there is double pane glass but I can report first hand that you can still hear every dish clang, argument and general street conversation below. Not to mention the enormous amount of traffic and sirens from the hospital/police right across the river. The biggest kicker though is being right over the RER, I could hear and feel the rumble of every train that came into the station below! I would equate the experience to staying in the middle of Times Square in a street level room, the view would be great but could you imagine? After two nights of no sleep and being woken up each morning by the music from the kitchen and guests eating breakfast in the lobby (more dish clanging), they moved me to room 22 which is one level up on the corner (corner rooms are the only ones with actual views of Notre Dame without opening the window and hanging out.) I was so relieved, this room had a huge bathroom and actual shower unlike the bathtub and handheld shower in room 11 where at 5'2" I was cramped. That was until at bedtime when the people in the room next to me returned. To say that the walls are paper thin would be a understatement! I felt as if I was staying in the same room and I'll just leave it at that. It seems that the corner rooms and the rooms to the left are back to back without a bathroom as a buffer. I will also confirm other people's reviews saying that the decor is quirky, air conditioner makes weird noises, you can hear everything in the hallways, you have to lug your luggage up a flight of stairs to the hotel lobby which is located on the 2nd floor, mattresses are VERY firm, and breakfast is very basic. Would I stay here again, absolutely not! There are so many other wonderful hotels in Paris in great locations. Stay somewhere within walking distance to somewhere wonderful on a quiet Parisian street with a view (if you need it) of something in the distance but somewhere you can go back to at night and get a decent nights sleep! Honestly, you don't need to be this close to the action, especially in the summer with crowds of tourists and tour groups everywhere- give yourself a break in the evening. If you still insist on staying here make sure to request a high floor to try and drown out some of the street noise. You also might want to ask for a room with a shower/not tub unless you like sitting in the tub with a handheld shower. Don't pay extra for the breakfast, especially with so many other options right outside the door. Also, if you plan to have them store your luggage - don't leave anything of value as it's just placed in the hallway or lobby!
