Beautiful Location/Amazing Staff

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 24 Oct 2024
The beauty of the hotel is equalled by the fantastic level of service. The view of the Sacre Coeur from our bedroom window was magical. It was difficult to find a hotel that would work for both me (age 57) and to celebrate my son's 21st. This hotel is in a great location, restaurant Maggie is fantastic and there is an in-house nightclub.
The fantastic team (especially Frederic and Luca)

Iv never disliked a hotel more than this spot. The pictures do not show how small and cramped the rooms are. It is beat up. Showering in Junior Suite is a wild experience with the floor soaking wet while your trying to keep faucet up. Lighting in bathroom makes you appear dead absolutely awful. It felt somewhat like traveling to Europe in the 80s and 90s. If you want zero amenities this is the spot for you. Housekeeping was bare minimum, Iv never seen anything like it to be frank. The pillows are paper thin.. furniture and bed uncomfortable. The rug is stained. Hallways full of racks and garbage. For a steep price I expect way more. Iv never even written a review for anything, but felt this needed to be out here for next person considering this spot.

Dear Sarah, while reading your impressions on your stay , I find myself to be very bitter about that , I would have liked to talk to you in person when you were here , especially knowing that you were going through such a terrible stay . The hotel is historic, no doubt , and it is the charm that brings it since the 30s that characterizes it , this but also involves what is a very simple and historical decoration that may not be suitable for all pleasures . Friendly staff and in a good location for the metro and places to eat. Great views from the roof but no staff on duty when we went up for a drink late afternoon. Bathroom had a bath with shower over the bath but no hook for shower head on the wall and shower screen too narrow. Coffee machine pods/sugar were not replaced when used. Art Deco hotel but additional lighting is needed in the corridors. We enjoyed our stay in Paris but the hotel is not quite 4 star - we booked it as part of a Eurostar package from London.

Room tip: If you would like a walk in shower - ensure it is possible when you book.

Within walking distance of Basilque du Sacre and its neighborhood outdoor cafes. The rooms aren't spacious, clean and functional. We opened the window on a cool night. The roof has a great view of Paris. The staff gave us great recommendations for restaurants and was a big help when our friend left his phone in a cab to get it back for us.

Had adjoining family room which was very convenient and sound proof.
Clean, helpful staff. Lots of options so close by for restaurants and supermarkets

This hotel is a beautiful building with lots of original features and charm. The staff are also considerate and helpful. Our room was stunning and we had fizz and cakes on arrival.

The problem is that the hotel promotes features on their website and elsewhere, that are frequently not available to paying guests. The rooftop bar is usually closed for private events and the same with the restaurant downstairs.

For us, this was the main reason we booked the hotel. Had we know the facilities are not prioritised for guests we would have booked else where. Of the 3 nights we stayed, the restaurant was open only once. The food was wonderful but they play hardcore loud techno music so loud that we couldn't hear each other and were forced to SHOUT over our food. We pleaded with the management to turn the "music" down but they refused, saying that they were trying to become a "lifestyle" location.

If you're into very loud house and techno music, then this could be the place for you. If you prefer jazz, folk, blues, classical music - or silence - a dinner here will make your ears bleed.

Dear Sarah, while I read your impressions about your stay , I find myself being very bitter about that , since there have been certainly various misunderstandings . The rooftop as for restaurant , are sometimes full because of events organized in advance and customers are always informed about it . There are no events, and the rooftop is always open for hotel guests , certainly that night there was no more place, since the view on the ninth floor is breathtaking but there are not many tables . I regret anyway for that , since it negatively impacted your stay . Dounia - Guest relation manager
