This hotel is a beautiful building with lots of original features and charm. The staff are also considerate and helpful. Our room was stunning and we had fizz and cakes on arrival.
The problem is that the hotel promotes features on their website and elsewhere, that are frequently not available to paying guests. The rooftop bar is usually closed for private events and the same with the restaurant downstairs.
For us, this was the main reason we booked the hotel. Had we know the facilities are not prioritised for guests we would have booked else where. Of the 3 nights we stayed, the restaurant was open only once. The food was wonderful but they play hardcore loud techno music so loud that we couldn't hear each other and were forced to SHOUT over our food. We pleaded with the management to turn the "music" down but they refused, saying that they were trying to become a "lifestyle" location.
If you're into very loud house and techno music, then this could be the place for you. If you prefer jazz, folk, blues, classical music - or silence - a dinner here will make your ears bleed.
