Great place to stay very authentic!

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 4 weeks agovia mobile
This was such a great place to stay the room was spacious and very authentic. Beds comfy. Great location. Would stay again for sure.
Had adjoining family room which was very convenient and sound proof.
Clean, helpful staff. Lots of options so close by for restaurants and supermarkets

This hotel is a beautiful building with lots of original features and charm. The staff are also considerate and helpful. Our room was stunning and we had fizz and cakes on arrival.

The problem is that the hotel promotes features on their website and elsewhere, that are frequently not available to paying guests. The rooftop bar is usually closed for private events and the same with the restaurant downstairs.

For us, this was the main reason we booked the hotel. Had we know the facilities are not prioritised for guests we would have booked else where. Of the 3 nights we stayed, the restaurant was open only once. The food was wonderful but they play hardcore loud techno music so loud that we couldn't hear each other and were forced to SHOUT over our food. We pleaded with the management to turn the "music" down but they refused, saying that they were trying to become a "lifestyle" location.

If you're into very loud house and techno music, then this could be the place for you. If you prefer jazz, folk, blues, classical music - or silence - a dinner here will make your ears bleed.

Dear Sarah, while I read your impressions about your stay , I find myself being very bitter about that , since there have been certainly various misunderstandings . The rooftop as for restaurant , are sometimes full because of events organized in advance and customers are always informed about it . There are no events, and the rooftop is always open for hotel guests , certainly that night there was no more place, since the view on the ninth floor is breathtaking but there are not many tables . I regret anyway for that , since it negatively impacted your stay . Dounia - Guest relation manager

Hotel staff can truly transform a stay from good to extraordinary. In Paris, where hospitality can add an extra layer of charm to your visit, the right touch from hotel staff can make all the difference.

I have been to France at least 6 times, but never to Paris. After my husband gifted me an air ticket from Vancouver, Canada to visit my best friend in the UK, I knew that a quick trip to Paris was in order. With barely 36 hours in Paris, time was a big factor in experiencing the city of lights for the first time. I booked the Hotel Rochechoart from a review I had seen.

A hotel isn’t just a place to rest your head—it is and experience. The care and expertise Nadia and especially Paul provided enhanced every aspect of our stay, making Hotel Rochechouart even more enchanting and unforgettable.
Arriving at little early, Nadia and Paul were not only accommodating, they were the epitome of extraordinary service. From the first step into the hotel to the last step out, our stay was memorable.

From two best friends with only with 36 hours in Paris, we are completely smitten with the Friendly French and their beautiful city, and looking forward to the next, but much longer, visit.

This really is a lovely hotel in a great location and we had a great stay, however the hotel is in need of a little updating, the biggest criticism was the over bath shower, there was no rail for the shower to hang on so you had to stand in the corner and hose yourself down behind a rather small shower screen. It was very hot whilst we were there and a walk in shower would've been lovely. This said the beds were amazing and it was very quiet. I would recommend this hotel but as said I think there are a few tweaks needed to make it more enjoyable.

Our recent stay at this hotel was disappointing in many aspects, despite its fantastic location, one of the best views from the roof top and great Parisian flavor.

The hotel clearly has potential (location, charm, building) but needs a refresh.

The interior is dated, and upon arrival, there was a bad sewer smell in the bathroom, which only disappeared after a few showers. While the beds were comfortable and the linen clean, the dark corridor outside our room served as a storage area for bed linen carts, adding to the overall lack of tidiness.

Additionally, the elevator was out of service for two days during our stay. Although taking the stairs could have been a good way to stay fit, the persistent smell made it an unpleasant experience.

The breakfast was another letdown. No black tea was available for several days, only herbal and green tea, despite our repeated requests. The bread selection was nice, but the coffee quality was poor. The staff in the breakfast room were inattentive and seemed disengaged. They did not refill empty plates and needed to be reminded several times by hotel guests.

We also planned to visit the rooftop restaurant, but it was booked for a private party, which fell below my expectations.

Overall, given the price, the experience was far from satisfactory. This hotel has potential but needs significant improvements in both service and amenities.

Dear , although I understand that your experience did not live up to your expectations, I thank you nonetheless for sharing these criticisms on specific topics on which we can improve day by day . I feel sorry for your experience of the breakfast , this certainly helps us understand what more stars could be brought in . Too bad about the lift , but we have two , despite the fact that you preferred to make some extra physical effort , the second lift was always at your disposal . The charm suited to the typical Parisian surfaces that do not allow for much space , small spaces but comfort , for this sometimes , a few trolleys of laundry that is used to refresh the rooms . Nonetheless, I hope you have not completely lost confidence and let yourself go to a second opportunity to experience the Rochechouart. Dounia - Guest Relation Manager

Extremely good location for Montmartre and Pigalle. Very low service in the breafkast area, with barely one or two waiters. They simply do not put out enough food for the guests, and there were repeated complaints about that. It seems silly to risk a bad review for a few more eggs, jam and ham but that is what happened. The coffee machine did not make capuccinos or anything with milk because of a malfunction... which we had to find out after trying three times! Put a notice and avoid the waste, that would be our suggestion. For the rest, this is a quaint hotel, not updated, with old bathroom areas but on the plus side, we slept soundly and the staff was efficient and kind. I would not stay there again, unless I had to be in the Montmartre area. If you choose to, I would recommend the junior suite as it is the same area of a double deluxe.

Breafkast was poor, lacking in food and inconsistent. They had deliciously good bread and then no bacon or very little scrambled eggs... We literally woke up earlier to make sure we ate well the second day because we realised they were not replenishing the trays. When food goes, it goes.

Room tip: If you have to stay at this hotel, choose the bigger room always.

Dear Lallum35,

I apologize for your bad experience which doesn't not reflect our level of service. You can be sure that I will pull your review up to our food and beverage manager to improve us.

Concerning the hotel, it was entirely renovated 4 years ago. We have recreated the style of the 1930's !

I'm happy to know that you enjoyed our location, near two metro stations and in the heart of Paris.

I wish you a good day.
Sweet regards from Paris,

Justine - assistant guest relation manager
