We went thinking it was going to be a Kim exhibit but, reading up the night before we realized it would be nothing like an exhibit. We were not disappointed! The admission line was long but moved fast (we could have bought tickets on line and used a separate queue). In the theatre, you’re presented with an irregularly. Shaped space and the light artists have been creative in using all the angles to great effect. The only thing we could compare this to was an i-max screening on steroids. The visuals were non-stop great and the accompanying music amplified the effect. Should mention that all ages were there. There is little internal seating in the flat-floored theatre but that went well with the style of the presentation as people seemed to enjoy moving their vantage points during the presentation.

We bought tickets online before we left home and bypassed a long line to get right into this just opened exhibition that is an incredibly intense immersive experience into various genres of art that is projected onto ALL the interior surfaces of an abandoned foundry/warehouse. You will be delighted and amazed by the experience. We have seen nothing else comparable anywhere else in the world! Don’t miss it!

Imagine an old iron foundry converted into a gallery/entertainment venue. If you find that hard to do then imagine Gustav Klimt’s work projected and reinterpreted on the interior of this cavernous structure with dazzling animation and wonderful color! This is an experience you should not miss! The artistry and creativity of the presentations are awe inspiring! Allow 1.5 hours for the performance and wear comfortable shoes. There is limited seating and the floor is concrete.

The slideshows are spectacular and we loved it, but one of them is a black & white piece created by AI and it is VERY DANGEROUS for EPILEPTICS. We warned the staff after the show. They know this is a problem and choose not to post warnings. My daughter had to sit int he room with a sweater over her head to avoid having a fit. She paid for a show she could not full enjoy and they did not offer to compensate her in any way and they did not apologize.

Dear Phread,

We are deeply sorry for the inconveniences your family and especially your daughter faced during your visit at the Atelier des Lumières.
We will pass on your remarks to the relevant departments, so we can keep working to improve the experience.

A photosensitive epileptic seizures warning is mentioned on our website but we are currently working on other technical solutions to make this information even more visible and guarantee you the best conditions of visit. We hope that our developments will allow us to welcome you soon at the Atelier des Lumières.

Kind regards,
The team of the Atelier des Lumières

You are surrounded by light, music, animations...you are not watching the painting...you are inside of it, sort of miracle is produced...the paintings are not on the wall, but everywhere...and the story goes on and on! Very unique and remarquable experience!
