We have stayed here many times and stayed on our first and last nights this year. Location is excellent and always a very friendly welcome. The room was ok but definitely becoming worn. The bathroom was disappointing. A toilet tissue dispenser had been fitted to the wall beside the lavatory but it encroached on space so much that we discovered that it has been wrenched from the wall in the room we stayed in on our last night. Parts of the mosaic tiles in the shower were missing and it looks distinctly shabby. The facilities are fairly good but there are very few power points.

On arrival our room was not quite ready and we used the bathroom before having a wander while we waited. It was ramshackle and very unhygienic.

Breakfast is usually good as it was this time and the cheery man on reception made a point of greeting everyone as he replenished the buffet. Hopefully it gets a bit of a makeover soon.

Situated in the perfect location within the walled city of St Malo. This hotel is iin the shape of a flat iron building. The staff were very helpful and friendly. A continental breakfast was included with a nice selection of croissants, cereal, ham, cheeses, yoghurts, fresh fruit etc. I really could not fault this hotel and would definitely stay there again.

Room tip: Room 106/206/306 have excellent views being in the centre of the flat iron building.

We have stayed at Hotel Cartier on two occasions and both have been excellent stays.
We arrived via Brittany Ferries and the hotel is an easy 15 minutes walk from the port. The ferry arrives early and on both occasions have got the hotel by 9.00 AM and greeted by a very friendly guy on Reception and checked into our room straight away, which is great in itself but were also allowed to have breakfast, which was a great way to start our weekend. The hotel is clean and modern and within the city walls and walking distance to all the sights, beach, shops, bars and restaurants . The room is small but very clean and modern and perfectly adequate with a kettle for making essential cups of tea and although very central it is quiet. The breakfast is continental and again fresh and plentiful and a great way to start the day.
All the staff we encountered during our stay were friendly and enjoy this hotel and St Malo so much we have booked up again to go with our friends in September.

Perfectly situated in the Old Town. Room was clean and the breakfast was more than adequate. Staff were friendly and we were pleased with our choice of hotel. A fifteen minute walk from the ferry terminal.

Our favourite hotel when visiting St Malo - central location, sufficient facilities, competitively priced and friendly staff. Best feature for me is the location - it’s right in the thick of the action which is great.
