An amazing restaurant in a side street in the city center. The furnitures are strange and original though the place is cosy and familiar. The host is funny and welcoming and the food is wonderful.
From default a nice pre-entree is offered (small toats with patè), then we divided a camembert and jambon as entree and we ordered mixed skewers (beef and kangaroo, so nice) and a bottle of wine.
The Achille's heel of this restaurant has been the waiting time. It tooks TWO HOURS for having a shared entree and a main dish, sincerely too much. This is the reason why we didn't have a dessert (even if we'd like to) and why we're rating 4 stars and not 5.
Anyway this restaurant is more than recommended (specially to people with a lot of free time :D)

Thank Treperzero

Merci pour votre avis, bien que l'heure d'attente me paraisse un peu exagérée, mais bon... vous vous êtes régalés.

Excellent host who acquiesced to my request to have my meat well done despite French people thinking that is sacrilege. Eclectic and charming décor. And the food: the best we have had in Concarneau. Much appreciated amuse bouche of rillettes, seriously delicious prawn bisque that I would return for, tender skewers of beef and kangaroo, yummy potato gratin and piping hot apple crumble. Everything is home made and touches like complimentary taster and rum are much appreciated.

Open on Sunday night which is rare in low season @Concarneau

The owner is very friendly and entertaining in a positive way. He made us feel really welcome.
Music was slightly loud which was adjusted when we asked.
Decoration of the restaurant is 'different' and nice. Pieces of art on the wall, pirates in the toilet.

Food was good. I had fish soup as a starter which was food, not great.
As a main course I had kangaroo which was very tender and tasty!

Great experience and we had a good time.

Thank Rose V

Although the restaurant was not busy (only us and one other couple) there was a very good atmosphere, largely because the owner/waiter was so entertaining and friendly and because the music was great. The owner speaks very little English but we communicated well with our limited French and he provided a menu in English, which helped a lot! He brought a nice appetizer of bruschettas to nibble while we decided. In the end we shared a goat's cheese parcel with cured ham and salad (about 8 euros) then I had the fish of the day (21 euros) whilst my husband enjoyed his first taste of kangaroo in a beef and kangaroo skewers dish (18euros). A shared apple crumble dessert cost 6.5 euros. All the food was superbly cooked and presented with delicious accompaniments. With wine and coffee the bill came to about 90 euros - not the cheapest but a fair price for the quality of meal and a very enjoyable evening.

Had the fixed price 38 euro pp menu in the evening.

Nice small ish restaurant close to the town centre/Ville Close.

Fish soup starter was excellent - watch out for a few very small bones at the bottom of the bowl though.
For mains we had Barbue (Brill) which was cooked perfectly and served with a nice selection of veg/crushed potato and very nicely presented.
Crème Brûlée was great too.
Wine - we had a nice Saumur Chauvigny at about 22 euros.

Patron was attentive and very helpful ....and with a friendly smile/disposition.
We will go back on our next visit to Concarneau.
