My stay at Hotel Villa Koegui was rather perfect. The hotel is ideally situated, tucked away on a quiet side street, just a couple short blocks from the center with all the bustle of shops, restaurants and cafes, and then the beaches beyond. I strolled there everyday. The ambiance is warm and modern, with plenty of clean lines, natural light and materials. Amaya and Aglae at the front desk were welcoming, helpful and always willing to help me practice speaking French, something I appreciate given their fluency in English. They, along with a gentleman whose name I missed, had fantastic recommendations for restaurants, shops, parking, etc. My room was pristine, and cafe au lait each morning on a tray was heavenly. I didn’t take advantage of the lovely common spaces where breakfast and other refreshments were served. When I return to Biarritz, which I hope is soon, I’ll stay at Villa Koegui again.
