Pros:
*Spacious room - basic but plenty space to sleep/eat/prepare food in for 2 people for 3 nights
*Location - 5 min walk from train station/airport link bus stop (8euro each way), 10 min walk to main city centre. Nice Sunday market and patisseries nearby (e.g. Le Fournil des Capucins) for breakfast (and we did not use the hotel breakfast for this reason).
*Fridge
*Towels provided
*Radiators heated room well
*Clean to a suitable standard
*Bed comfortable enough (but I am not especially fussy about mattresses)
*Helpful reception staff but reception is not staffed 24hrs
Cons:
*Noise pollution - we were on 2nd floor and windows appear to be double glazed but noise from traffic, nearby building works and people in the street was really noisy. I am a heavy sleeper but I did not have one single quiet night's sleep. Both of us had to use ear plugs and we could still hear noise.
*No kettle or hair dryer (although you can use pot to boil water and hair dryer and iron can be requested from reception - not ideal).
*The street leading up to Victoire square is not the most pleasant of walks (uneven pavements and lots of chicken and kebab houses and closed shops) but we did not feel unsafe during the many times we walked along it.
Summary:
For a 3 night trip over Easter weekend, we were happy with the price and location as we were not expecting luxury and were happy to walk the short distance to city centre attractions. Noise pollution is the major let down but I suppose that is not something the hotel can control and should improve once the building works across the road are completed. Not suitable for people with poor mobility in terms of accessing the rooms/toilets and city centre.
