Unpleasant

1.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 14 Jul 2021
It was my first time in Bordeaux and I loved the city, checked into the hotel real quick to change clothes and hop into the sunny dowtown area to watch the football game between france vs Hungary, allez les blues! Didn’t care to check the towels at the time as I didn’t shower.

Later on the next day my friend came across a dirty towel (smudged with I don’t know what). Didn’t care to make picture of it but did go to the staff to report it. Juan Pablo can confirm that.

The next day nobody seemed to know anything about it anymore when we asked (again) what they were going to do about this..

After multiple discussions the conclusion became clear, we were wrong and they were right.

Believe what you want to believe, but that towel was dirty as sh*t.

Don’t go to this hotel.

This is the first review I write in my life, unfortunately out of an unpleasant necessity.

After a long great day in beautiful Bordeaux you want to come home to a nice and clean hotel room to get some rest and recharge.

This was not the case at all. The room was nasty, far from clean. After informing the hotel staff they checked and cleaned the room in our absence. When checking out this dirty hotel they told us the room always has been clean and asked for pictures for proof that we obviously didn't make.

We had to put a lot of energy and discussions. An inconvenient experience that you don’t want on your holiday.

I do not recommend this place, but I do recommend Bordeaux.

Dear Sir,

We do not understand this comment as we have not had any such claims. We spoke with the front desk team, nobody got any similar situation. It can happened to have a software issue but if one of our guest got a room which is not ready yet, we always find a solution to satisfy our guest and we offer him another room.
If you make reference to the comment « Unpleasant » and « « Nasty », I apologize but we will tell you exactly the same thing we already told you and wrote to you in response of your previous comments.

There was 1 towel in a bin and 1 towel next to the sink which was used by somebody after going to the toilet - brown towel….. As soon as we noted this we told the front office, Juan Pablo (front Office) removed the towels immediately. We asked for compensation. They told us they found nothing and the manager told me they trust there cleaning en front office team. This is unacceptable and not how you handle this with your guests.

Using a towel after going to the toilet and then put it in the hotel room or nobody checked it?? removing the towel and then telling me it wasn’t there.

Don’t go to this hotel!

Dear Sir,

I will tell you exactly the same thing we already told you.
You actually informed us that you found a dirty towels only on Sunday afternoon when you checked-in on Saturday. We were surprised of this situation because it never happened before. If I understand well your explanation was not clear because first of all, you informed us on Sunday that the dirty towels were on the shower, my colleagues cheked after you left and saw the towel in the trash. Then you changed your speech and said that the towel were actually on the trash.
I apologize but your room was verified by the housekeeper manager and nothing strange was found.

However, as we are a respectfull company and the satisfaction of our guest is our priority, we were pleased to offer you a discount for your next stay with us. Like that you could be able to see again that we care about our guest and offer accomodations perfectly clean.
Unfortunatly you refused our offer.

I wish you a lovely day !

The hotel is located a quite some distance from the city center so be prepared to accumulate some serious mileage. The hotel itself is reasonably nice and secured by a gated entrance. Not sure if this is because the area surrounding the hotel looks like it has seen much better times. The neighborhood was a bit seedy looking. Staff was congenial and helpful. Breakfast was a typical affair found in most French hotels these days.

Hello Amie,

Thank you for you interest in our residence, i'm glad that you enjoyed our staff and breakfast.
No worries it's a popular borough but it's safe, i'm surprised by your remark because we are located at 6 minutes walking distance from Place de La Victoire which is in the downtown.

Thanks,
Maéva

Location is good and safe. From the street it looks not so nice. First we got a smelly, small and dark room on the 1st floor. We asked for another and got a perfect one in the front building, much bigger and a little view to the city. Heating was not working well, the receptionist tried to help with a portable heater and blankets. Some details are annoying and unpractical in the rooms, like I could never cook the that kitchenette. But its OK for 2-3 nights. The definite highlight was the breakfast!

First the good, pleasant check in, great location just a couple of blocks from the Victorie Plaza. Reception was pleasant - though not sure how you are supposed to get in without them giving you the code before hand to the gates. If you make a reservation be sure to get the gate code before going. The room was good, clean and the little kitchenette was stocked (some Apart places make you pay if you want to use the kitchen items).

What is not good is the bathtub - there is a fixed piece of glass, the tub is high and when you go to step in, due to the glass, you are stepping in on the slanted end of the tub - there are no grab bars - this is a very dangerous situation. Once I managed to get in without breaking my neck, the shower hose is attached to the wall at waist level - ?? I am short but this would work only for a kid. Next the water would go cold, then super hot, then back to the set temperature about every 15 - 20 seconds, this cycle continued throughout the shower - not fun. I had LOTS of pressure, the next morning when my husband showered we could only get a trickle of water to come out - was on the same settings as the night before - he took a cold dribble shower, nothing would come out. The TV in our room (#309) has awful sound, the speaker is shot and vibrates making it difficult to listen to. The internet was decent, the bed pretty good and our room pretty quiet, we chose this place because of location and that it had a fridge - I like my water cold. We stayed 2 nights and I would stay again, but would ask if they had a room with a shower versus tub and a TV that didn't have vibrating sound.

Room tip: get the code to the gate so you can get in, especially late at night
