Great Room, Great Location

Review of Hotel Majestic
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 5 Oct 2019
We had a great stay in a very unique room at the Hotel Majestic. We spent a few days in town eating, walking and doing other touristy things. The Hotel Majestic was a great choice. A block from the tram station, near the main shopping street and very quiet, the hotel did not disappoint.

We checked in a were assigned room 501. The receptionist explained that we had to take the tiny elevator to the fourth floor, then ascend a small stair case. We got to our room and it was unique and lovely. A small sitting area with two chairs, a kitchenette and table that leads into a bedroom and bath area. It was like a lovely little secret apartment. The only downside was the roof line if low, so you need to be aware lest you bonk you head when you exit the WC. Also there is now shower, but rather a bath with a sprayer hose (which is not uncommon in France). Anyway, the room was lovely, the staff couldn't have been more accommodating, and the location was great.
Date of stay: October 2019
Room Tip: Room 501 is a gem. Included kitchenette, sitting room and bedroom. Only room on 5th, but need to...

we went to bordeaux for our 51 st anniversary ,after a disappointing 50 th in england so i studied long and hard to find one that ticked all our boxes , because most french hotel rooms are on the small side , we settled on a small suite at a very reasonable price , if we turned right we were close to the very good & cheap tram services (a senior 7 day ticket costs 11 euros) , turn right and your in the main square close to a gordon ramsey restaurant if thats your choice ,we preferred the very good more reasonably priced ones most of which were suggested by the very helpful staff , we could not fault this hotel , and hope to return

Room tip: the hotel is in a quiet street , suites comfortable & clean

We booked this hotel because it had a car park, unfortunately what we did not know was that this had to be booked in advance, so there was no parking for us. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were spacious. However, the one recurring problem was very poor WiFi coverage which cut in and out regularly. The breakfast was too expensive at €17 per head so we went out.

We could not have found a better placed hotel for the price. We made our city visit by walk without any problems and the shopping as well. The room was spacious and all the staff was really nice and very helpful. We found the room a little bit old fashioned and the jacuzzi was small and overall the bathroom was not equipped with basic products for 2 people. Great Point for us was that the hotel proposes parking which we needed.

We stayed here our first two nights and for one night two weeks later before we took the TGV to Paris. The hotel is reasonably priced, in a great location (less than a 5-minute walk to several trams, the tourist office, the opera and lots of good restaurants), and the room was comfortable.

We transferred to The Majestic after we had to evacuate our holiday apartment following a nearby fire - a triple and a double. We chose The Majestic for its location and the fact we could gain access to the rooms quickly (after a sleepless night in emergency accommodation). It was a great choice - very friendly staff, peaceful, safe area, close to trams and shopping, comfy beds and nice view over the side of the opera house. Our daughter also loved the resident Yorkshire Terrier!
