Good value for money

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 27 Jul 2024
Good value for the money. Excellent location, tram right outside, short walk to city centre.
Breakfast is really good .
Rooms are definitely on the small side particularly the bathroom.
The shower/bath wasn't easy to get out of.
Would stay here again.

Good hotel with good parking on the metro but also walking distance from the front. Room were clean and the staff friendly. Breakfasts are always good. However we asked for a twin room. The beds were a zipped double separated. We pointed out that the Mattresses slide on the bases but the worst problem was the mattress topper which slid on the Mattress and were dangerous if you did not realise. You could easily fall off the bed. Also the in bath showers are not accessible by an older person even with the hand rail on the wall. Beware

I could ignore the really tired decor if it didn’t feel that they were squeezing every last bit of profit out me. No hand towels, one pillow each, one room key, an empty water bottle that you could fill 7 floors down if you chose to. Stayed in numerous Ibis hotels in the UK without problems so wasn’t expecting luxury. Next door is the Ibis budget, love to know what they’re cutting back on in there 😂

Good evening,,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While I wish you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve.

We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it's apparent in this case that we fell short. If you give us a chance to earn back your trust, I can assure you that we will do our best to give you the great hotel experience that so many of our guests have grown so fond of.

Sincerely,

Clément,

Stayed 2 nights. Great hotel. Staff friendly. Rooms are small (twin room) but ok for 2 nights and very little time spent in hotel. It is a good 10/15 min walk to centre but I’m used to walking. The big advantage is that the tram to and from airport is just outside.

Room tip: Tram from airport/to airport just outside

Firstly the A tram from the airport drops you right beside the hotel. The town centre, bars and restaurants as well as the cathedral etc are all 5 to 10 mins walk away. There's a large shopping centre around the corner as well.and a convenience store across the street. We checked in online and getting our key was simple thought there is another reception for a different ibis on the same floor. We had room 1023 on the 10th floor. It was small and maybe too.small.for 3 of us. However eventhough it was basic it had all we needed. However the room was infested with ants. There were 100s on our bed and table. The staff had the room cleaned and gave us a free breakfast and offered free parking as an apology. The breakfast buffet is plentiful with lots of choice however there's no queues so it can be chaotic with people getting in one another's way. The staff are friendly and there's a nice bar/restaurant attached witha lovely outdoor space. The best part of this hotel though is the location and that alone is a 5/5. We paid 400 euros for 3 nights for 3 people. That's without breakfast. All in all the hotel is basic and the rooms small but the location is perfect. I'd definitely consider going back but the ants problem really was a bit concerning and the room may need pest control called in to fumigate it. The staff were lovely esp the dark haired girl in the bar/restaurant. She was extremely good at her job and a credit to her employer. Bordeaux itself is amazing and to say I fell in love with it is an understatement

Room tip: Get Tram A from the airport.

We parked on the curb arrived and realized there’s no ramp for luggage at the budget. You go through the front door of the Ibis red and continue into the lobby of the budget next door but inside. People were very nice. Young tiny brunette girl, Maeva, penned out a complete itinerary for us to walk and tram in Bordeaux. So nice. She lugged our baggage into a locked room for us before we could get our room.

The rooms are tiny. Even though we booked a triple with a double bed, we got one bath and one face towel. There was a tv that was unplugged, no outlet next to the beds. I replugged the tv and looked way up under it to find one electric outlet. The only other one is in the hall outside an unnecessary inner door that serves the bedroom AND the bathroom. Just a normal bathroom door would make it easier to use the only other electric outlet on the hall wall. Luckily we have several extension cords that we tripped over during our stay. The wifi on floor 5 is too weak to use, but the views and distance from street noise is nice.
The breakfast is bad, very crowded, pastries, processed cereal, waffle, crepes. No cheese, no eggs at all.
The parking is around the block under the hotel. It’s pretty roomy for a European parking lot. Interior elevators take you to the lobby.
For €75 and parking price, it’s a deal. Don’t expect anything extra.

Room tip: Weak to no wifi on 5th floor. Book a triple to have any room at all. Bring extension cords.
