Maybe not!

Somehow my original review, which I attach as pic now, was removed! But I believe travelers need to know and hence I am re-posting it.

Except for a good location, I don’t enjoy staying here, mainly because of 1) staff attitude depending on who’s manning the reception;
2) erratic ventilation in room;
3) funky smell lingering in the air when room windows are opened;
4) street noise;
5) no wash basin in toilet.

Dear Skycewonder,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We sincerely apologize that your original review was removed and appreciate your effort to repost it.

We understand your concerns regarding the staff attitude, ventilation, and noise. However, we want to clarify that we are unfortunately not responsible for the ambient odors in Bordeaux. We strive to ensure our guests have a pleasant stay, and we took steps to accommodate your needs by providing an early check-in and relocating you to meet your expectations.

Regarding the wash basin, we would like to clarify that it is located in the bathroom, not in the toilet area, and we do not advertise those specific room types online. Additionally, the temperature in your room was maintained between 19 and 21 degrees throughout your stay, as per your request. We acknowledge that weather conditions can vary, and during your visit, Bordeaux experienced warm days and cooler nights.

We are particularly puzzled by your rating of 1 out of 5 regarding the new bedding, as we believe it should have contributed positively to your experience. Our staff is dedicated to providing attentive service, and we believe your comments may not accurately reflect the experience we aim to offer to our guests. We hope that future travelers will consider the full context of their stay.

We wish you all the best in your future travels but maybe not in bordeaux.

Best regards,

We stayed in a King bed corner room suite on the 1st floor. There is lots of room to move around as well as lots of windows and light, but the windows would only open a few inches due to a cord locking across them. It's understandable, because the building across the street is mostly abandoned and inhabited by pigeons, so the lock is probably to prevent the birds from flying into the room, but it really bugged me, because I would have loved to throw open the windows and enjoy the city's ambience. Additionally, the bathroom set up was weird. The toilet next was separated from the shower and sink by a wall, and you had to go around the king-size bed to get to it! The room is situated on the main drag - St. Catherine St. - so there are restaurants and shops galore just steps away. Fortunately, the soundproofing is excellent and the bed is extremely comfortable. Breakfast was great, lots of variety, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. There is an English TV channel - CNN. We paid $270 USD per night, which included breakfast.

I had a very enjoyable three night stay here. Location is excellent, easily reachable from the airport with the tram. The main sights are close by, with just Cite du Vin requiring a tram ride.

My room on the fourth floor was clean with a comfortable bed and great shower. I was happy to see it had a Nespresso machine. The buffet breakfast included everything you could expect. All staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

This lovely hotel is in the perfect location for exploring beautiful Bordeaux. Although the hotel is located just by the busy Rue St Catherine shopping street, our room was extremely quiet. We stayed in a large triple room with a king size bed and a sofa bed, both were very comfortable.
The room was spacious, modern and very clean. The air conditioning worked really well, which was appreciated in August. The large floor to ceiling windows looked down onto the hustle and bustle of Rue St Catherine. The room was light and airy and very comfortable.
I requested a quiet room on a lower floor, which the hotel provided, which we appreciated and we will definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.
The coffee maker & small fridge were very useful and we appreciated the free bottle of water in the room each day.
The hotel staff were helpful and took care of our luggage before and after check in and check out.
The only negative issue was that we noticed an odour of ‘drains’ in the bathroom every afternoon and the shower pressure wasn’t the best. The bathroom was very spacious with a shower cubicle and separate bath, which were very clean. We kept the door closed so the drain smell did not enter the bedroom.
We did notice the ‘drain’ odour when we were out and about walking around in Bordeaux from time to time, so perhaps the old buildings don’t have the best plumbing, I don’t know. I did mention it to the front desk once we checked out, so that they could look into it.
Apart from that, we really enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning.

We stayed three nights. The hotel is located in a quiet street near the Rue Sainte-Catherine, a major shopping area in downtown Bordeaux. Excellent transportation is available with tram lines and buses nearby and also several restaurants and bars are within walking distance.

Our room was spacious, quiet and clean. The bathroom was not very modern with a bath tub and the drain was in need of a cleaning. The room was well equipped with a/c, safe, a fridge with bottled water and a coffee maker and housekeeping was very good.

Breakfast was included in our rate and was very good with items of high quality and great service by the team members. To our taste the temperature in the breakfast room was too cold for comfort which was not so nice, and we had to dress warmly to enjoy our breakfast.

All in all we had a pleasant stay at the hotel.

Comfy double room right in the center of everything! 5 min walk from the tram stop from the airport too. We had no issues, room was cleaned and tidied daily, pillows and bed was very very comfortable.

One issue is they talk about sustainability on leaflets in the room however they put two plastic bottles of water in the mini fridge and replace both daily. This is conflicting with the advice regarding towel use and saving water. Please consider to install a filtered tap downstairs to allow guests to refill their water and save single use waste.
