Typical Radisson hotel

Very comfortable hotel, very much in the Radisson vibe. We had a good view of the waterfront and the room was spacious. Breakfast was good. However, there are no good local restaurants open on Sunday and Monday nights in the area, so we ended up eating both nights in the hotel. Not top quality, but OK.

The hotel is new and what you would expect from a 4 star hotel. The staff are obviously just getting to know how to provide good service. The breakfast was poor. No choice of eggs, just scrambled which were cold. Water in the coffee / tea making machine was not hot enough so all hot drinks were luke warm. Items which ran out were not replaced quickly enough. Staff were not very visible.

I am a little conflicted writing this review after spending 3 nights at the Radisson Blu in Bordeaux. It was neither fantastic nor was it particularly bad. First the good points - staff friendly and helpful, beds and room comfortable, breakfast very good. Now the not so good - it’s not really well located and there is nothing much in the area. The nearest tram stop was 700m, which was a nice walk in the morning but a hard slog after a day’s sightseeing. The hotel restaurant (as opposed to the breakfast room) was not great. There was no pool. Finally, the front desk rang in the morning of our check-in to say they had to put us in a lesser room for the first night as there had been a hiccup in the booking system. I did not believe this for a minute. One of their corporate clients (a cruise company) had just brought in a number of passengers finishing a cruise. I suspect they shifted us to please the client because something went wrong there. They did apologise and gave us a reduction in the room rate, but it was a bit inconvenient.

Great hotel in quiet location, a short tram ride or leisurely half hour to 40 min stroll ( even for my octogenarian parents) along the river to old town. Excellent, helpful staff, easy check in/ out lovely clean rooms ( 208 and 209) which were very quiet ( no traffic noise, or noise from other rooms) very Comfortable bed, plenty of towels and toiletries. The immediate area has plenty of restaurants and bars, and is a lot less crowded and cheaper for dining than the old town. Try the Halls de Bacalan just over the river for a great evening of dining and drinking. At 20€ pp for breakfast (we think overpriced) in the hotel we decided to find a cafe instead, one almost immediately next door and considerably less than hotel price, however a short stroll to Chartrons we found a fantastic cafe with amazing coffee and pastries. The hotel offers two restaurants and a rooftop bar. The rooftop bar has amazing views and gets the setting sun, some drinks however overly priced. Only open from 5pm but there is a bar downstairs open during the day.
We enjoyed staying out of the old town, was good to walk away from the bustle at the end of the day and this hotel offered everything we required for a short city stay; clean, comfortable, quiet with dining options on the doorstep.

Located outside City Center next door to the Wine Museum + the massive food court...About a 45-60 min walk, or a 13 euro cab ride to City Center the property is well-located along the River. We were blessed w/an upgraded, view room. The Staff is largely multilingual, helpful + friendly. They try very hard. Rooms are updated, clean, neither expansive or cramped. Fitness room limited but functional. Gina's Rooftop restaurant offers a spectacular view especially for breakfast...

A reasonable value. We would stay here again. No significant negatives...
