Recommended and would stay here again if ever I wanted to go to Bordeux again. This was a comfortable apartment out of town but not too far from the motorway. We did have trouble finding it as it is tucked away down a road that looks like it leads to industrial units. And that is probably what the building was in days gone past. However, the accommodation worked OK for us. Very clean room and very friendly English speaking staff. Good shower pressure. Excellent free Wifi. A little small (particularly the kitchen area) but we were able to cook and eat all our meals in the hotel and that saved us a fortune judging by the prices we saw at the restaurants. Our room was next to a metal staircase/walkway where a number of smokers congregated at night. That was annoying as we had to shut our windows to keep the smoke stink out. Also shutting the windows stopped the noise from other guests. The tram stop is under five minutes walk from the property and the river is about 20 minutes walk along a straight road so you can't get lost. The tram is €1.60 for an hour (and it's only six stops into town) so you could go anywhere on any tram as long as it's within the hour until you have to pay again. We rented bikes from the bike station near the tram stop that we thought were €1.60 for 24 hours but that is only to get the access pass for 24hours. The bikes cost the €1.60 plus €2 per hour. It's not that clear on the instructions when you rent! Bordeaux is very cycle friendly!!
