Good option to visit Bordeaux. Tram stop and bike hire nearby!

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 3 Jul 2018
Recommended and would stay here again if ever I wanted to go to Bordeux again. This was a comfortable apartment out of town but not too far from the motorway. We did have trouble finding it as it is tucked away down a road that looks like it leads to industrial units. And that is probably what the building was in days gone past. However, the accommodation worked OK for us. Very clean room and very friendly English speaking staff. Good shower pressure. Excellent free Wifi. A little small (particularly the kitchen area) but we were able to cook and eat all our meals in the hotel and that saved us a fortune judging by the prices we saw at the restaurants. Our room was next to a metal staircase/walkway where a number of smokers congregated at night. That was annoying as we had to shut our windows to keep the smoke stink out. Also shutting the windows stopped the noise from other guests. The tram stop is under five minutes walk from the property and the river is about 20 minutes walk along a straight road so you can't get lost. The tram is €1.60 for an hour (and it's only six stops into town) so you could go anywhere on any tram as long as it's within the hour until you have to pay again. We rented bikes from the bike station near the tram stop that we thought were €1.60 for 24 hours but that is only to get the access pass for 24hours. The bikes cost the €1.60 plus €2 per hour. It's not that clear on the instructions when you rent! Bordeaux is very cycle friendly!!

Room Tip: Try to get a room away from the metal staircases!

Stayed here on a 3 day visit to Bordeaux. The hotel is a little out of the old town, but is pretty easy to get around with a tram stop not far away. The room was comfortable and clean, with a kitchenette which is handy.

The room had a lot of light and was comfortable. Easy to control the temperature. The hotel was easy to find and close to the tram station and the river. WiFi signal and reception inside the room were bad however.

Air conditioning and plenty of hot water was the best thing about this hotel. Due to metal stairs and decking for access creates lots of noise and depending on where your room is, no privacy, meaning window and curtains cant be opened . (This is a converted warehouse in a business and residential district) You need to master the use of the TBM transport card/ system Hebdo+ 13 euro for unlimited use of tram, bus, bike, boat - this is not widely advertised but was the best element of our trip.

Well-equipped studio apartment with a kitchenette. There is a small restaurant which serves breakfast if you do not wish to cook your own.

I stayed for about 6 weeks and was very very happy here. After the first night I changed rooms from a ground floor unit to a second floor unit which was brighter and quieter. Also, be aware on first appearance it seems that the bedding has no duvet, but it does. It’s just tucked in really tightly add the head of the bed. Pull up and you’ll find there’s a duvet there. I spent the first night underneath the spare blanket in the cupboard.

Whilst the location isn’t in the centre it’s 3 minutes walk from Grand Parc Tram stop (Ligne C) which is super and takes about 10 mins to Quinconces.

Extremely helpful staff. You can choose either daily or weekly room cleaning - I went for daily (€10/day), and it was very good. Very good stay. Recommend.
