Check in process is quick and easy, with friendly staff who clearly explained all policies and timings for check out and breakfast etc.
Room is small but comfortable and well stocked, with tea and coffee facilities provided (though a couple of extra milk portions would be good). It was clean and neatly presented, with room for hanging up clothes. Bed was comfortable although I personally found the pillows too soft (though many would like them, I'm just fussy). Room was very warm at night (we actually opened the window as we like it cooler). TV worked. Bathroom was clean and well stocked and the shower pressure is good, though the temperature did fluctuate slightly.
Breakfast is included and there is lots of choice- typical fare like sausages, bacon, fried eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes and potato, alongside toast, crumpets, fruit buns etc, plus fruit (though not fresh fruit unfortunately), cereal and granola etc. Hot drinks, milk and juice also available so plenty of choices for all tastes really, and regularly topped up and refreshed from what we saw.
Overall, value for money is good. Like a smaller, less corporate premier inn, with comfier beds. We will likely make Diamond Lodge our first choice should we need a hotel in Manchester again in future.
