So Today we came for lunch, Not at all busy but steady, I ordered the beef n horseradish bun and the nachos starter to come together as a main! Didn't wait long which is always good as I was starving, but when my meal came out it was literally a dry bun with beef in it and a jug of gravy no roast potatoes as stated and no horse radish? It looked un appetising if to be perfectly honest, with this comment, the waitress seemed embarrassed but I would be, are they unsure of what's served with the food you order? Also why is the kitchen sending out food like this?! The roast potatos looked pale and were Luke warm I couldn't even eat them, No follow up was made after to check we was ok with the food but were glanced over a few times by staff members! So after giving you again a second chance on food and still appallled I don't think you will have my custom back! On a good note beer was lovely and I do love the beer garden you have! But please step up your standards on the food your serving to your guests! Or should I say lack off on twice of my visits hence this bad yet positive feedback !

Went on a Wednesday night for my nieces birthday, didn’t have a starter but went for the carvery, big mistake beef was okay but the rest of it looked as if it had been sitting there’s since Sunday and tasted like it, there is a children’s play area so if you have children it’s great if you haven’t and want a peaceful meal forget it

I came to the blue jay for breakfast and it was amazing everything was lovely and hot . The assistant manger Catherine was brilliant to she helped in every way . She was excellent from start to finish even taking time out talking to our children as she was on her own .. I would definitely recommend here to anyone

We had a twin room(111) which was very comfortable, there were a few marks on one of the walls by the bed and there were some dirty marks on the dressing table area but on the whole it was clean. We ate in the restaurant with friends on our first night and the food was really nice. Our first breakfast was really tasty with a good choice of cereals, croissants, toast, jams, juices etc.,and the cooked classic breakfast was great. My hubby doesnt like hash browns so a second sausage was given instead. However the second morning I decided to opt for the American pancakes, advertised as having crispy bacon but the bacon I recieved didnt even look to have been cooked at all.I didnt complain at the time as we were ready to leave and had quite a drive ahead. On the whole though I would recommend a stay here.

Although the food we received here was fair, ( we chose to order off the menu ) and the restaurant was clean it was not a pleasant experience.
On entering the premises I waited at the bar to be served only for a member of staff to walk past where I was standing and stand by a till some distance away and asked me to walk to them to order !!!
How utterly bizarre and rude ! This seemed be the case when anyone waited at the bar, most noticeably when 2 elderly gentlemen waited at the bar and a young man walked to a till which was the furthest one away from where they were standing and they were asked to walk to him to order , even though one was using a mobility aid !
If this is the way that staff have been trained then it needs looking into, after all what would happen if the pub was full, ? would all the customers be expected to line up behind a till point as if they were waiting for a bus ? Bar staff move to where the customers are , not the other way round as seems to be the norm at this establishment !

Hello
Thank you for your feedback it is greatly appreciated
We generally have a staff member allocated to a specific till hence why they couldn't use a different one and we do try to serve the next waiting customer not just the ones stood next to any till sometimes this means asking the next customer to come to the servers till .
I have taken your comments on board and will review how our service style affects our customers
thanks again for the feedback we do hope to see you again soon
