An idylic cottage in a very peaceful location. The cottage is well equipped, the fixtures and fittings are of a high standard and the property is maintained exceptionally well. Rossmoor Cottage is extremely clean, warm and comfortable - easy to relax in at the end of a day.

Coffee, tea, milk, some yummy biscuits and even a bowl of fruit were provided on arrival by the owners which were a nice touch. The Wifi reception was good, far better than most cottages in the area.

We stayed here for a week in September 2018 (one of four properties we rented in immediate area over a month due to building work at our own house) and this was the cheapest (pro rata) and by far the best.

Emma, the owner, was extremely welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.

For those looking to stay somewhere with handy access to Harrogate and to enjoy the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, you can’t do better than Rossmoor Cottage.

We hope to return very soon.

“Beautiful cottage, perfect location”

Beautiful farm cottage in peaceful location. Well equipped, with welcome pack on arrival (tea, coffee, milk, fruit and biscuits). It was a joy to come back to after a day's sightseeing. Within easy reach of local towns Harrogate, Otley and Knaresborough, plus a bit further afield to Pateley Bridge, Grassington and Bolton Abbey. Lots of lovely walks from the cottage. Only wished we'd had more time. Would definitely stay there again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

“Everything you could want from a holiday cottage”
Reviewed 2 May 2017 for a stay in April 2017

We loved our long weekend stay in Rossmoor Cottage. The location is beautiful and peaceful - the cottage has been converted from farm buildings at the entrance of the owners' property, a former farm at the end of a private track, and is surrounded by the rolling hills and dry stone walls that typify the Yorkshire Dales. The exterior was very pretty with stone planters and attractive hard landscaping. The interior was even better than the website photographs suggested - cosy, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. We thought the layout was very cleverly designed and well-appointed, with high quality fixtures and fittings. Two lovely double bedrooms, 1 upstairs with en-suite bathroom (bath) and one downstairs which can also be a twin room with access to the ground floor bathroom with shower. We appreciated the inclusion of a spacious bath upstairs as we have two young children. We had requested a travel cot and high chair and both were ready and waiting for us - both extremely clean and in perfect working order. The kitchen was well-equipped with decent oven and large fridge-freezer, and the hosts had kindly provided an overflowing fruit bowl, tea, coffee, cookies etc. to welcome us. The living room (open plan to the kitchen) was comfortable with gas powered "wood burning" stove, small table and chairs, TV and DVD player, 3 seater sofa and a remote-controlled reclining chair which our five year old thought was great fun! A cupboard with drawing pad, colouring pens and board games was a welcome discovery, although both games we tried unfortunately had pieces missing. From the living room there was direct access to the small outside paved terrace which would be perfect for alfresco dining in summer. We (our 5 year old daughter especially) were particularly impressed with the small children's area situated within view of the living room and directly opposite the outdoor terrace. Surrounded by a high stone wall and with a secure gate, this grassed area had a climbing frame, swings, slide, swing-ball etc. Such a thoughtful addition and ideal for keeping the little ones entertained!
The cottage is also situated only about 15 minutes drive from Harrogate and attractions such as Brimham Rocks are close by. We visited from abroad, to attend a family celebration in the area - therefore we stayed only a couple of nights and didn't have much time to explore the area. But for us it was the perfect location, a stones throw from Leeds-Bradford airport and Leeds city centre, very near to Harrogate, and a short drive away from the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. We would definitely recommend this property to families or couples looking for a well-situated, comfortable rural cottage with a traditional atmosphere but all the mod-cons too. Thank you Emma, our host, for providing such a lovely place to spend our long weekend away.

“Beautiful, peaceful and cosy cottage!”
Reviewed 29 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

What a WONDERFUL place to stay! Stunning views over the hills and valley as you approach the farm. Located at the end of a windy road you feel you are in the middle of nowhere but actually, you are only 15/20 mins from places like Harlow Carr and Harewood House. The cottage is beautifully maintained and clean, well equipped and supplied (tea towels, oven gloves, washing up liquid etc), efficient heating, great water supply in the downstairs shower. The little terrace with the bench and table and chairs is a great sun trap with pretty flower tubs around. The terrace looks over the fields and onto an open sided storage barn across the parking area but I think that adds to the charm and interest and it is all so well cared for. Having two bathrooms makes it really convenient for two couples. The upstairs bedroom doesn't have a door but it is round the corner at the top of the stairs (which go up from the entrance hall) so is quite private. Emma and Robert have been really helpful answering questions before we arrived and very welcoming and helpful while we were there. I hope there is space next time we want to come and visit!!
