The eight of us arrived at Knockcarrig House exhausted. The three kids were cranky, the five adults wary. We only traveled from Boston to Killarney, but it felt much further at that point. This was our first experience renting a house, we are hotel people. However, we were staying two weeks and four suitable hotel rooms together seemed impossible to find.
Noelle greeted us at the door of Knockcarrig House and warmly welcomed us to Ireland. We could tell right away she had put her heart and soul into this home she and her husband had created. It was more than we ever expected. First, it was immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. Noelle mentioned she has a background in hospitality, which showed because it had everything we could ever have wanted. There was an abundance of dishes, glasses, silverware, pots and pans, even Guinness pints and Irish coffee mugs! On the island in the kitchen, Noelle had left us a hampers filled with provisions; scones, bread, wine, chocolates, tea, coffee, olive oil. In the refrigerator there was cream, milk, Kerry butter, there was nothing we could have wanted!
Everything in the home is the highest quality, from the tile floors to the lovely furnishings. The spacious kitchen allows a large group to congregate. The vaulted ceiling and floor to ceiling windows in the warm dining room made for memorable meals, family game times, or a quiet spot to do some Celtic coloring that both the children and adults enjoyed. The views were spectacular from sunrise to sunset. The five bedrooms upstairs all have private bathrooms, beautiful linens, comfortable beds.
A favorite spot for many of us, for morning coffee or evening cocktails, was the large stone patio with views of the pasture with the two resident friendly cows. There is more than sufficient seating for everyone throughout the house, couches and comfy chairs, everywhere, especially in the living room/library!
We were three generations under the Knocarrig roof who all felt it was one of the best experiences we’ve ever had. If you are fortunate enough to visit Ireland, you could not find a more perfect spot, located on The Ring of Kerry and a short drive to the Dingle Peninsula.

Noelle's incredible home is just minutes outside Killarney. Noelle met my husband and I and our three adult children at the house. She couldn't have been kinder. She had a basket with coffee, scones, bread, butter, tea, milk, etc... It was perfect. Modern appliances throughout the house. Each bedroom was en-suite and decorated beautifully. We didn't want to leave. I wish we booked more days. We went hiking in Killarney National Park and took day trips. We really couldn't wait to get back to the house. It was so relaxing. I can't recommend this place enough. You will not be disappointed. To top it off------my daughter left her wallet at the house and Noelle communicated with her right away. Noelle, kindly, sent her wallet back the States. Thank you, Noelle!!! We are so grateful. She really went above and beyond what a host would do. She's fantastic. Don't miss booking this place!!
What a beautiful home! Noelle has gone above and beyond to make this home not only beautiful but very welcoming. She has thought of everything! From bathrobes in every bedroom to a thermos for coffee on the road. And I can't say enough about the wonderful welcoming basket of scones, bread, butter, coffee, milk and wine! How wonderful to be able to come in from our long drive and not have to worry about running to the grocery store for essentials. The house is exactly as shown. Every bedroom is beautifully done. The property is very close to town and Killarney is an easy drive to the Ring of Kerry and the Dingle. We stayed 3 nights. I wish we had been able to stay longer. There is so much to do in this area. My adult kids LOVED the cows in the pasture. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the patio next to the pasture. Noelle is so easy to work with while planning your trip. She answered quickly whenever I had a question and checked in with us while we were there. Thank you, Noelle, for making our visit so memorable!
We stayed 4 nights at Knockcarrig house at the end of August and loved it! There were 8 of us, 3 couples and 2 singles and everyone had their own bedroom AND bathroom! Noelle was the perfect hostess, available at arrival with a beautiful basket of goodies including wine and Irish brown bread. Location is great, just a few minutes from town, but you really feel like you are in the country, especially with the cows as next door neighbors! We would definitely love to come back!
We stayed at Knockarring House to celebrate my parents 40th wedding anniversary. The experience and accommodations absolutely could not have been better. Noelle was in constant contact leading up to our stay with driving directions, things do to while in Killarney and quickly answered any questions we had. The check in process was so thoughtful: Noelle was there to meet us and provided a beautiful welcome basket with all the necessities including wine for the adults and baby wipes for the infant! This house is so well thought out and designed with even the smallest details in mind. I wish I could live there forever!
