Great welcome and totally unfazed by us arriving by bike (I had advised them beforehand). Bikes dry & safe in the underground carpark.
Very comfortable and well appointed room with a peek of a view of the hills (on the 3rd floor). We made full use of the lovely pool and sauna/steam room in the sister hotel across the road.
Oddly, both the bar and the main restaurant are windowless, but quite cosy. Food service in the bar was a bit slow, though the food was good. Breakfast felt a little strange - most of the other guests were on a bus trip, so we had the place to ourselves apart from the staff rather noisily clattering around clearing up after them.
Killarney itself is utterly bonkers. Art gallery at 11pm on a Sunday anyone? Or a horse and trap ride? Perhaps a sing song in one of the many bars with live music. But hotel room was quiet and we got an excellent nights sleep.More
