This is the true bed and breakfast experience, with hospitable hosts and a layout and atmosphere that encourages interaction among guests. Our room and bed were comfortable, and Joan's breakfasts were outstanding. She even provided refrigerator space, a microwave and a mini-cooker for guests to use. Because this is a working farm and Joan and Tony have their own children and pets, families should feel particularly at home here. Joan went out of our way to see that we had an enjoyable stay. She even gave us a lift to the corner where the bus for the Ring of Kerry tour picked us up -- and she was so well-known and well-liked in the local hospitality industry that the tour guide dropped us off at the house when it was done.
Me and my four friends spent one night in Daughlasha BB and we were all very happy with the place. We were travelling with our dog, and this BB has the facility to accomodate animals. There is a small apartment on the back of the house, where you can enjoy your stay with your pet. There are not many places in Killarney area, which accept dogs, so if you travel with your pet this is the place, which will accomodate you. Rooms were comfortable and clean.
Joan was very friendly and welcoming and she prepared tasty Irish breakfast for us. There were also yoghurts and fruit available. We recommend this BB to everyone.
Graet service and hospitality!!! We were tow families with 2 kids and a baby and received 2 rooms in the house. All the house is big and clean, we got a great breakfast and no one was disturbing us. The house is very close to Killarney.
We wanted to give our Canadian family a nice side trip while over for a wedding. From toddler to grandparents, we give Joan our vote for accommodating us in her lovely B&B. A warm welcome, comfy clean rooms, fab breakfast and no feeling of rushing out the door the next morning! Some stayed a second night after doing the Ring of Kerry until late!
We will definitely recommend Doughlasha to anyone heading to Killarney!!
We rented a double and family room for one night, and couldn't have been happier with the location, rooms, and service. Joan cooked a wonderful full Irish breakfast for us, and drove us into town our first night there. The kids enjoyed playing on the trampoline, and watching the sheep across the street. The next morning Joan arranged the boat portion for a Gap of Dunloe tour for us, and her husband Tony drove us to the start of the tour at Ross Castle. Great family and great place to stay - Highly recommend! There are more reviews for this great place in the Fossa vacation homes section.
